Academy Award Nomination: Best Makeup. THE NUTTY PROFESSOR II: Everything is coming up roses for Professor Sherman Klump (Eddie Murphy). His fiancée, the equally brilliant Denise Gaines (pop music star Janet Jackson), loves him for his prodigious mind. Sherman's university has just been offered $150 million for the radical new youth serum Sherman has developed. And the big-eating, trash-talking Klump clan (all played by Murphy) couldn't be happier. The only person who can ruin things now is Sherman's nemesis: his id-like alter ego, the smooth-talking, flashy dressing Buddy Love (also played by Murphy). In an attempt to destroy Buddy once and for all, Sherman manages to locate and extract the DNA strand that represents the last remaining trace of his own private Mr. Hyde. But the gene accidentally mutates with a strand of dog hair, giving birth to a brave new Buddy who sniffs out the Klumps. With the help of Academy Award-winning makeup wizard Rick Baker, Murphy magically disappears into multiple roles for uproarious results. NUTTY PROFESSOR II is a hilarious sequel to the 1996 remake.

2009-07-14 - I've seen both versions a few years ago on vhs tape separately. To have them both on one dvd is tremendously convenient and my husband and I laughed all over again at Eddie Murphy's crazy antics. This is a very good bargain and I recommend seeing it again if you haven't for a while.

2009-06-28 - I really like how this double feature has the flip side.My kids watch this several a day. Now they quote different parts of the movies.Eddie Murphy, Eddie Murphy, & Eddie Murphy are as funny as hell! Yes, & I did mean to say tht 3 times.

2008-06-04 - Eddie Murphy is a riot in these two equally funny comedies, The Nutty Professor I and II. His performances of the entire Klump family (except the young nephew) are so distinctive, you sometimes forget that he's playing all of them! Jada Pinkett Smith and Janet Jackson also give fine performances. James Coburn's minor role is a marvel in the first film.
One drawback to this DVD is that the powers that be could've at least put some special features for Part I (maybe some more bloopers). But all in all, this is a must-own.
