Editorial Review:
The setting is the wild anything goes topless dancing world of the St. LouisMetro East in which Frank Harring and top stripper Lori Mellon fall in love. Meanwhile Frankruns afoul of a judicial system bent on ruining him. The affair between the individualistic andrebellious Frank with the cynical yet childlike dancer is tempestuous to the very end when Frankunleashes his own brand of violence and destruction upon a world he no longer believes in.

Death on the Wild Side Reviews:
this book is timeless 5 Star Review
2000-06-13 - Based on the last review it's clear that this no-holds barred book still evokes as much emotion as it did when it was published. Things haven't changed much in the clubs in the Metro East and people are still afraid to have that word get out.

Yes, Jack's tell-it-like-it-is style does cause resentment from some, but most of the people there appreciate that their lives and their times have been chronicled so well for future generations to read. Nothing lasts forever except literature.

You have to read this book to understand why some people are still angry about its publication.

Far from the truth 1 Star Review
2000-06-07 - The verdict is in. The girls working in the St Louis Metro East topless clubs hate "Death on the Wild Side." It is about them, their friends, and the clubs they have worked in.

The setting is so far from the truth, in anything-goes topless dancing world of the St. Louis Metro East in which Frank Harring starts his one sided love affair with stripper Lori Mellon. Pretty clear that no won could believe she would ever fall for him.

The author is the most hated guy in the St. Louis Metro East topless world. So his book is very won sided against us dancers in the area.

Lets hope he never writes part II as it will be filled with more lies about us dancers from the Metro East.

Their are better books writing about strip clubs out their as this one is so full of lies no won should read it.

Two interesting ideas and 450 pages of garbage 1 Star Review
1999-08-23 - Interesting premise but the author gets bogged down in the nit details of every drink he drank and every stripper he watched. His thoughts about lawyers and holy macrimony are excellent but not worth the time spent plowing through 450 pages of useless and irrelevant details.

GREAT BOOK!! 5 Star Review
1999-03-05 - I can't wait for the sequel. What has mesmerized me is the suspense in exactly how Lori Mellon will die in Book II. Hollywood movie material. Serious stuff.

I can see it now: Anjelica Huston, Danny DeVito, Rosanne Barr, Maury Povich.

Congrats Sir Jack!

I bought a copy for every employee. As will I when the Book II hit's the market.

A full circle exposure to the world of exotic dancers. 5 Star Review
1997-12-12 - crazy czech: This book is based on the life experiences of the author as he enters the world of exotic dancers and becomes deeply entwined with them on a personal level. Meet some of the hottest dancers in the wildest place in the USA the Metro East St. Louis dancers. Follow Frank on his journeys through this as he meets Nipples and others and the climatic ending that this journey takes him on. He is working on an update to this with a new cast of characters.
