Forever Changing: An Introduction to Nirvana Reviews:
Decent band but low quality CD 3 Star Review
2008-11-19 - I never heard this artists before, but I like them from the first song. It's a nice pop-rocknroll-band, not boring or primitive.

But I was really dissapointed by the CD quality - it sounds like it was just recorded from a vinyl - no mastering at all. A big part of sound is shallow, practically no base. Voice frequencies are quite ok.

Nirvana circa 1968- a great compilation! 4 Star Review
2007-03-15 - This is my first taste of the original Nirvana ( not the Seattle grungemeisters)and after listening to all the samples of the regular albums this compilation of the first two records plus some bonus tracks is really the way to go. This is pretty stringladen Pysche ala Sgt Peppers- maybe alittle Oracle era Zombies- very pretty and sometimes Beatleseque. Sometimes it gets alittle too cute but this afterall was recorded just after or during the summer of love and thus captures the innocence and experimentation of the era. I happen to love all this stuff so i was thrilled. If you like Kaleidoscope- The left banke- beatles- strawberry alarm clock and others n this vein then you cant go wrong with this really. The regular full length albums didnt sound as strong as this near perfect compilation.

"Best-of" CD by the pioneering classical-popsters 5 Star Review
1999-05-28 - A quarter of a century after their first album was released, the classically-influenced psychedelic popsters Nirvana(Patrick-Campbell-Lyons and Alex Spyropoulos) have a "best-of" CD on the Island label. Somewhat curiously, the Cd features 8 of the 12 tracks from their second Lp, four from the first, and both sides of a rare 1969 7-inch. The obvious comment is that the Pye Lp Black Flower and all releases thereafter are obviously overlooked, and that a far better idea would have been to reissue the 2 Island albums with extra tracks. Still, the entire CD is choc-fill of excellent music which takes in numerous influences and styles, and serves up a wonderful whole.
