2009-12-15 - This is a great gift set with room for MTV unplugged new york and sold out live dvd's with a very nice poster. The live at Reading is an amazing live performance in every sense, the sound quality is outstanding, the bands tight, Cobain is in top form and the set list is awesome. I wish I could have seen this show back in the day, at least now I can watch and listen to it. This is worth every penny.

I disapointed with the quality of the box its so cheap, so fragile. Save your money buy the Live at Reading [CD/DVD]for $24.99 I agree with By J. Kerrigan "Muzik Freek" this Amazon exclusive box set is a rip-off.

Awesome DVD and CD, Cool Poster Too.
2009-12-01 - Nirvana's Reading Festival Performance is called by many their greatest performance in their entire career, and from a person who has listened to all their live performances(including bootlegs) I must say that is an accurate claim. The CD is excellent and offers the entire show except for Love Buzz which was a slight disappointment but the DVD has it so I suppose that makes up for it. The other bad side to the CD is to fit the entire performance on the disc they had to cut out all the joking that the band was doing in order to fit what they could, and since they didn't include Love Buzz on the CD too that really disappoints. I read some other persons review on the CD and he said that there was constant cheering edited in on every song. Ive listened to the whole show multiple times already and have no idea what hes talking about, everything seems in order with the DVD. Perhaps he misheard the crowds partying and enjoyment of the entertainment as something else.

Now onto the DVD - The DVD offers the show in a remastered high quality picture and comparing it to the bootlegs it is unbelievable how well they made it. It features the band joking around, playing the intro to the song "More than a Feeling" before going into Smells Like Teen Spirit. Typical Nirvana stage humor and it's great. And like Live! Tonight! Sold!, there is an Easter Egg at the end of the DVD and it made me smile and feel bad for what a great artist the music world lost when Kurt Cobain died, and how the fans were heartbroken from it.

The Amazon Exclusive Box I found to be worth it, some say their box came crushed and dented mine came in perfect condition. Guess I should give my mailman a good christmas tip lol. The poster is pretty cool too, hung it up the day I got it which was a day before the expected time, thanks Amazon!

So buy this if your a Nirvana Fan or just a music fan in general, it was one of the greatest performances of one of the most honest and incredible decades for music.

I love Amazon. I've been paying the light bills on the joint for years. BUT, this Amazon exclusive box set is a rip-off.

Combined CD/DVD of Nirvana Live at Reading costs $25. This Amazon box(with the same CD/DVD set)is $36. For the extra $11, you get a flimsy box with "Nirvana" stamped on the side, and a small poster. If that's worth $10-12 more to you, go for it. But you could get an entire other CD plaus the Nirvana CD/DVD for the same $36.

Just not worth it, Amazon; try harder next time...

Great Live Album By The Late Nirvana!
2009-11-04 - This is a great live set from the band that set the world a blaze in the early 90's. The video quality is good, sound is great, and it does capture the energy of the day. The only thing that was a bit of a let-down was the Amazon.com Exclusive packaging. The Poster is good, but the box is not "tasteful hardbound slipcase", but a less than spectacular flat black cardboard, the thin dvd digipack style case, and then a thin cardboard spacer to keep the dvd from sliding around. The extra space is advertised "to put your other nirvana dvds in". It is possible to do that, but the extra few dollars is not really worth it. Also, the shipping (despite well packed with bubble wrap) had a dented corner on my box, and the low quality cardboard spacer is sprung out a bit because weight got placed on the shipping box. Buy this DVD/CD set, well worth it, but save the money on the amazon exlusive version.
