Oh the Guilt/Puss Reviews: Cool 2009-08-20 - I was never into the Jesus Lizard until I bought this single for the Nirvana song. Their sound takes some getting used to but "Puss" is actually a decent (but disturbing) song. The b-side "Oh the Guilt" is classic Nirvana and this CD is worth buying just for that song. If you're a huge Nirvana/Jesus Lizard fan or you don't want to buy the entire Nirvana box set for an inferior over-compressed version of "Oh the Guilt", definitely get this.
Two Great BAnds, Two Great Songs 2008-06-10 - Being released in February of 93' "Oh The Guilt" become somewhat a forgotten Nirvana song after the release of this split single. Upon entering the next decade it'd be resurfaced in the longly anticipated "With The Lights Out" Nirvana Box set(released in Nov. 2004). Also noted you can hear this song on the WTLO compilation
"Sliver:Best of the Box" (released in Nov. 2005) Great song, kind of rough recording wise.
("Oh The Guilt" was originally recorded previously in April of 92')
Along with "Oh The Guilt" comes The Jesus Lizard song "Puss". While not so much a rarity as it's available on their (Oct. 1992)third release "Liar" did achieve chart success from the single, but controversy from the music video. The song is still non the less a great song. TJL are a bit less mainstream than Nirvana, and have a more Punk orientated sound.
Oddly enough Steve Albini produced "Puss", later Albini would go to work on Nirvana's third and final studio album "In-Utero".
I'd say buy this only if you're a Nirvana music collector.
