Orange and Blue Reviews:
Spare parts do not a theme make.......
2006-10-12 - Folks familiar with the two or three fairly well known Nirvana UK releases will probably be surprised to see so much available from the band in CD form. After "Simon Simopath" and "All of Us," I see they had considerably more output than I knew about. "To Markos III" (see the listing for that CD) received only a very limited release, since the label Metromedia went out of business just as it was headed to US shelves. "Orange and Blue" is a collection of out-takes from the bands' early period. The presentation is uneven, some of the songs are demo-quality, some are well produced. As stated in the liner notes, this material did not see the light of day at the time because it conceptually did not fit their predominate musical style. These songs are a little weightier than their toytown baroque modus, although not extremely so. The interesting thing is this: you will hear music akin to Erasure and Lightning Seeds. I doubt those bands derived their styles from listening to this material, but the accidental parallel is interesting.
This is good
2006-02-20 - The British Nirvana were about to sue Kurt Cobain's Nirvana because of the group's name (yes, the British Nirvana came first, face it, if you don't believe it, inform yourself before saying the opposite, Cobain said so, not me), but they got to an agreement and the British Nirvana decided to cover "Lithium" just to prove that everything was ok between the 2 bands. If you like grunge, don't buy it. If you like good oldie style music, I definitively recommend you this album.
Nirvana (US) - Nirvana (UK)
2005-08-05 - Ok, most Nirvana US fans are stupid for doing this. Why are you guys comparing a totally diffrent band and totally diffrent genre of music. Yes, I'm a long time Nirvana(US) fan and I agree Nirvana (UK) sucks, but that dosent mean you have to come by posting negative reviews about some type of music you hate just because their name is the same as Nirvana (US). I'm also going to make it clear that Nirvana (UK) did a cover of Nirvana (US)'s Lithium. Kurt Cobain wrote that and the lyrics were inspired by him. This CD was made after Kurt Cobain's dead. And sorry to break it to you, but Kurt Cobain took the name "Nirvana" way before Nirvana was created. Their was going to be a lawsuit between them, but after Nirvana hit the mainstream it was dropped.
To A music fan from ontario
2002-07-12 - I would like to state that Nirvana from seattle did not cover lithium. Kurt Cobain wrote that song this UK band covered it.
THIS IS NOT THE KURT COBAIN NIRVANA
2002-05-25 - my cousin recently bought me this for a birthday present and he didnt realise that it was not the nirvana that can actually play good music! the cover of lithium was really bad also!!!!!!!! to everyone that is meaning to look up that nirvana, this isnt it!!!!!!
