Editorial Review:
This is the title track from the platinum-selling 2002 debut from Norah Jones. Written by Norah herself, this song not only features her trademark luscious vocals, but also demonstrates her abilities as a writer. Backing tracks are live versions of 'Turn Me On' & 'Cold Cold Heart', recorded live at Chicago's House Of Blues, April 2002. * These bonus live songs are totally exclusive to this release and were not even made available on her website as downloads! Come Away With Me Reviews:
Beautifully Melodic, Brilliantly Executed - Classic Norah 5 Star Review
2004-05-23 - There aren't many musicians who can release a debut album and go on to become of the biggest superstars of the past decade in the space of a year. Norah Jones is clearly an exception to the rule. Her debut album "Come Away With Me" was released in the spring of 2002 and went no where for about a year. Few critics even knew it was on shelves and only a handful of music industry insiders knew her name. This all changed when the hype began to build and in February 2004, Norah Jones picked up a staggering 8 Grammy awards for the album - a record for a female artist. Suddenly Norah was big news and the album gradually ascended to the No.1 spot all over the world; suddenly jazz was cool; suddenly America had a new idol; suddenly, people began to wonder how such a young lady could make such simple music and break all the records and rules...

The album has since topped the charts in both the US and UK and just been certified for US sales of 9 million copies. Worldwide sales stand at 18 million and despite this success, Norah has many critics. Some can't believe her international fame and believe her as nothing more than a jazz/country wannabe with hardly anything to show for it. How wrong they are! Norah's voice is amazingly powerful and extremely soulful. She's chilled out and cool and people can listen to her music easily which is why she appeals to a phenomenally vast market. She also happens to be stunning in appearance, and that always helps. Come Away With Me is now a classic in modern music, a landmark of the times and is still going strong selling hundreds of thousands of copies around the world, with no sign of slowing down!

The second single to be taken from the album was the self-titled "Come Away With Me." This song was first used in adverts around the world, particularly in Europe and soon in 2002, by word-of-mouth, the song became know. The voice was famous, but the name wasn't. The Grammys obviously put a face to the name of the song, and here we have yet another classic from Norah! The song opens with a soft and gentle beat that breaks in so gently and quietly and the piano softly creeps in. Norah begins by singing the chorus, "Come away with me in the night. Come away with me and I will write you a song. Come away with me on a bus. Come away with me where they can't tempt us with their lies." This beauty is accompanied by the piano in the background, before Norah sings, "I want to walk with you on a cloudy day. In fields where the yellow grass grows knee-high. So won't you try to come." This section is my particular favourite of the song because it is so visual and you get an image in your mind of a field in the middle of the country. Sometimes it's nice to just relax and contemplate on life. I'm as much a party boy as the rest of them, but I like to balance that contrast of the high life with chilling out!

Norah then sings the second verse, "Come away with me and we'll kiss. On a mountaintop. Come away with me and I'll never stop loving you." This is then followed by a gorgeous instrumental of bliss. This is the part where you think of the field and the mountaintop. Norah's vocals rise and she sings, "And I want to wake up with the rain falling on a tin roof. While I'm safe there in your arms. So all I ask is for you to come away with me in the night. Come away with me." The song then ends just as fantastically as it opened.

The video to Come Away With Me is really beautiful and once again works very well with the song's laid-back trademark that has become such a staple in the Norah Jones catalogue. We see Norah driving a car very slowly through the desert and the humor at the end is in that she receives a parking ticket for driving either too fast or slow, we're not sure either way! All in all, if you're looking for something beautiful to chill out to look no further than Norah Jones. She's the one who started the jazz trend currently sweeping the world and she does it the best! You don't have to be a middle-aged nerd to like her music. Hey, I'm a 16 year old guy at the centre of a cultural lifestyle in England and I adore her! Buy this, or the album of the same name, now.

I'll take this song away with me anytime 5 Star Review
2003-07-28 - "Come Away With Me", the title album track, perfectly blends pop and jazz. Her quiet, soothing voice gives radio mainstream the needed variety. She showcases her just-as-excelled piano talents. Her written lyrics and musical theme spice a night out of town with that special someone and a walk along the beach. Those who like "Come Away With Me" should buy her album and the single "Don't Know Why".

Another Great Import Single from Norah! 5 Star Review
2002-12-30 - This CD single is most certainly worth owning if you full-fledgedly like Norah's album. It contains the splendid, lush, absolutlely dreamy and 20's-esque Jones-penned title track to the LP and is backed with 2 exclusive and outstanding live takes of TURN ME ON and COLD COLD HEART. On TURN ME ON she laughs and says, "I guess I'll start now." Both songs segue into each other. The intimacy of the live setting as well as the presence of an extremely thrilled and clapping audience members makes these takes arguably better than those on the album.

MY ADVICE: Get the album first. It is almost the same price of the single as it is. If you then love the album, buy this CD. It will be worth its price to you.
