I Don't Believe It!!!
2006-08-20 - Well, I finally gave up and ordered this excellent series from Amazon UK in the region two format. It wasn't all that expensive to pick up a multi-region player and boy has it been worth it. "One Foot in the Grave" is one of the funniest comedies to come out of Britian. Richard Wilson is absolutely hilarious as Victor Meldrew, a working man of 60 replaced by a square box and forced into early retirement. His moaning, groaning and griping character is played to perfection - there's never too much. Annette Crosbie is the perfect counterpoint as the long-suffering Margaret and I throughly enjoy the delightful, fluttery actress who plays Mrs. Warboys. I don't know if this show will ever be released in region one but if it ever is, BritCom lovers should snap it up and if it isn't, it's worth getting in region two. Let me add my caution to those who might be tempted to grab the knock-off region one copies from e-bay. Unless your DVD player plays DVD-R, the disk won't work in anything but your computer.

BBC - Get this entire series to region 1 PLEASE
2006-07-16 - This series is one of the funniest BBC Britcoms, but has not been released on bonifide region one discs.
Beware of bogus region 1 discs of this series (and others) on eBay.
Eight of them I have purchased won't play properly on my Panasonic region 1 players.
If you have a region free player, grab them. If you have a Mac, you can use iDVD to play them,
but remember you can only switch regions 5 times according to the window that opens when you load a non-region 1 DVD.
All of these programs are hilarious.
The Richard Wilson, Annette Crosby team is a superb Britcom treasure.

One Foot in the Grave
2006-07-01 - I would like to add my voice to the many who ask that this series be released in the region 1 (USA & Canada) format. This is the only one of the top 10 all time best British comedies that has never been released on DVD. Why would that be? I also check regularly to see if it's been released. I sent an email to the BBC asking about this but only got a "thank you" form letter back.

2006-06-11 - I have never laughed so much in my life!!! This TV series is the BEST ever. I check back often to see if it has been released and wait patiently.

2006-06-07 - I'd love to see this show released for USA as well. I keep checking back every once in awhile because this was one of those British comedies that really made an impression on me. It's a great show. I do hope we will be able to buy it in the near future.
