Description of Blizzard of Ozz:
Blizzard of Ozz, the first solo effort by the former lead singer of Black Sabbath, became a classic, due in large part to Osbourne's partnership with the late Randy Rhoads. The most immediately recognizable song is "Crazy Train," whose distinctive riff has made it a staple of rock radio. "Mr. Crowley" and "Suicide Solution" generated considerable controversy, which is equivalent to good press when it comes to heavy metal. Other strong tracks include "Revelation (Mother Earth)" and the opening song, "I Don't Know." This 2001 reissue includes the bonus tracks "You Lookin' at Me Looking You." While even heavy-metal listeners haven't always taken Osbourne seriously, his influence on the genre has been considerable. Blizzard of Ozz demonstrates why Ozzy commands lasting respect. Following a spat between band members, the parts played originally by bassist Bob Daisley and drummer Lee Kerslake have been recorded over. --Genevieve Williams
Blizzard of Ozz Reviews:
OZZY AT HIS BEST
2009-10-23 - buy the 1992 remaster of this album, not this sacrilage that this is.if you want to re-record the album re-record it.don't just re do certain parts. in it's original form this is a bonafide 5 star release.
Sacrilege
2009-09-03 - 1 : a technical and necessarily intrinsically outrageous violation (as improper reception of a sacrament) of what is sacred because consecrated to God
2 : gross irreverence toward a hallowed person, place, or thing

2009-08-25 - I bought this CD without realizing that it been so drastically changed and that the bass and drums were actually new recordings by other people. But when I played the CD I thought "I don't remember the song sounding like this", so I checked the CD to only discover the truth. The rest of the reviews here can go into detail, read them if you will, But I can tell you one thing: This remaster sucks!
I don't know the politics behind this travesty, nor do I care, but I will never listen to this one again, and I am going to purchase the older remastered version that still has all of the original music on it.
Don't buy this CD, you will be sorry.
The drums and bass sound like garbage
2009-08-17 - Why it gods name did Ozzy do this remaster and redo of the bass and drums....the drums are horrible. This redo sounds like rejected demo's and take the power away from these songs.
Blizzard of Ozz
2009-08-13 - I was at Hara Arena in Dayton Ohio on May 9 1981 and saw The Blizzard of Ozz Tour. The opening act that night, MotorHead. One of the best Metal Shows I've ever seen. I was a big Ozzy fan. Now, not so much. They have destroyed a Rock n Roll Master piece. Greed is an ugly monster. One star is one to many.
