Carnivore Reviews: Carni-bore 2006-06-21 - Absolutely horrible, and not in a good way. Avoid at all costs, even if you dig cheesy horror flicks.
Any review over 2 stars is fake 2006-06-06 - Too lazy to sign up.
I have this DVD. There are no special features and you can see that the "brother of the director" has explained why that is, here on Amazon. I thank him for that, at least it's an explanation.
But I say, who cares if this DVD is missing special features? This movie is terrible. I'm serious, this is the worst movie I have ever seen, and I have watched some really bad stuff.
I'm not exaggerating. Anyone giving this over 2 stars is lying to help this movie's Amazon rating. I hate fake reviews! The only reason someone would give it 2 stars is because they really love terrible movies and collect them. That's fine, but I don't love bad movies so I'm giving it what it deserves. Actually it deserves a NEGATIVE 5 stars, but that's not an option.
Why is this movie bad?
The script, the acting : embarassingly bad but I understand some people enjoy that.
The sets, the lighting: Horrible, no excuse for this! Even if it is a low-budget movie. This is still terrible. Bad filmmaking, period. I have seen some REALLY low budget films that manage to pull it together more than this. This is just incompetence/laziness on the part of the filmmakers.
Quality of the picture/sound : Sound is the *worst* I have ever heard in any movie VHS or DVD, no exaggeration. The picture looks like it was shot on a video camera that was considered a cheap piece of junk even in 1983, when this was filmed. It's THAT BAD.
The monster : Worst monster I have ever seen in a movie, and you never even get to see the monster! You just get to see "through the monster's eyes" as it stalks around the house. This is "accomplished" with very bad effects, like the kind you'd see in the very first music videos ever made (on top of the horrible picture quality, which I already mentioned).
In conclusion, this is NOT a movie to buy if you collect horror films. It is the movie to buy if you collect "worst film ever made" kind of movies.
Buy this movie if you collect JUNK and are proud of it. It still isn't worth over 2 stars. This movie isn't hard to find, either. I won't say the name of the store because I know Amazon will delete it. But you can buy this DVD at [most popular store in America where you can buy almost anything for cheap] for like 3 dollars.
Quite Possibly THE Worst Movie On Earth 2005-12-20 - Carnivore is quite possibly the worst film ever created. I have recently learned that it was filmed in a house and not Hollywood. While I can see how that affects this movie, it still cannot redeem the horrendous disaster that is Canivore.
The film is so dark that I can't even tell what is going on, and the horrible effects are just beyond bad. The "carnivore" is a rubber costume that looks very lame and...TALKS(?!?) is the end. Well, I just told you nearly the whole movie, so there you have it. Avoid this at all costs!
CARNISNORE 2005-01-29 - I have to comment on the review by the director's brother. While I can understand your defense of your brother, it still doesn't make this a good movie. If there was a lot of hard work that went into this bomb, it certainly doesn't show. Not one of the "actors" should have even been put on screen; the effects are entirely laughable; the sound and lighting are so far beyond professional standards, I don't see how a studio could have released such a horribly made movie. So Mr. Kurtz, pat your brother on the back, but don't think the rest of the world can sympathize with such lack of talent in film-making. Obviously, this is one horror movie to avoid.
The worst movie on God's green and blue earth 2004-12-28 - my little brother laughs at this piece of s*** of a movie. Everytime he watches it. If you gave this move something above a 2 then either you played on the movie. Or you been smoking that Blue berry yum yum, that's being for real. The movie is about four or five teenagers going into a house that has a monster in it. and the government wants to stop this monster that is in the house or some stupid s***. It's just a stupid story line. And when the movie starts you can't help but laugh at the level of dumb a**. Anyway they must have paid the actors $20 each to do this movie. Because none of them could act it was just a bad movie. I thought Jason X was the worst scary movie I every seen until I waste 81 mins of my life watching this garbage.
Unless you want to waste 81 mins of your life away don't watch this.
