Editorial Review:
STRIPPERELLA SEASON ONE - UNCENSORED features Pamela Anderson as the voice of Erotica Jones, a stripper-turned-superhero who fends off evil villains such as Dr. Cesarean, a plastic surgeon who gives unsuspecting women explosive breast implants; Cheapo, a frugal villain who makes his henchmen share a gun and Pushy Galore, a former genetic physicist who breeds animals with designer logos on their skin. With the ability to land safely after jumping from tall buildings, courtesy of her enhanced hair, and her patented move called "Scissor-ella" in which she crushes the villains with her thighs, along with the lie detector implanted in her generously-sized chest, Stripperella proves to be one tough superhero unwilling to give up.
Stripperella - Season One - Uncensored Reviews:
stripperella season one
2009-09-23 - I really liked the stripperella cartoon. It is one of a kind i ever seen. But the second DVD was not at all good. Over all if you can get it cheap and used and dont pay to much for it then itis worth it.
Decent enough, but didn't really grab me
2009-02-28 - I discovered this show through the Stan Lee reality show, when there was a picture of Stripperella in the background. I knew it was going to be cheesy just from the fact that the lead character is a stripper who fights crime. I didn't think I'd like it as much as I did, but at the same time the show really didn't live up to the amount of expectation that I had for it.
The show sets off to be a parody of the super-hero genre & it's characters, but falls short of that goal at times. I think that's partially why it only lasted about 13 episodes- it never seemed to actually go beyond the initial blue humor of the series. While that was fun at first, the writers just never seemed to do anything that could really flesh out the characters. (I refuse to believe that the skanky IRL "Stripperella" had anything to do with the cancellation.) I mean, there's only so many times you can reuse the same jokes about sex, strippers & such.
Even so, the promise in this show really shines through & makes you as "what if...". The premise was novel & the characters' initial premise was intriguing. It just never really seemed to get that one really great blast of energy that shows need to really take off.
Pure gold
2008-12-14 - The funny thing was, this show debuted on my birthday, and even though I'm a woman, I liked this show. It pokes fun at the stripping industry as well as the superhero/villain genre (Cheapo, Klinko) and the innuendos peppered throughout brought a chuckle to my face. Some of the dialog was horribly cheesy - but then you realize that it was intended to be that way. Overall, this was a musing romp, and I am just happy that they made a DVD boxset for this. It was well worth my money.
Great show, different music on this version though.
2008-08-13 - This was a great show, and it's great to see it uncensored, however they changed the theme. The original had a rock song written and performed by Kid Rock, this version has a more pop song by a woman (uncredited). Yet, if you buy them off iTunes they have the original music, but are rated TV-MA which means probably censored. Maybe Kid Rock didn't want to do the Uncensored version, so he pulled the song? Not a very big deal, though it was a great song, so I kinda miss it.
Stan , How could you?
2007-01-10 - Innuendo aside, Stan Lee (creator of Spiderman, Daredevil and the Fantastic Four) and Pamela Anderson cheapen themselves in creating Stripperella. This season one show from Spike TV's beginnings was an experiment which failed-it only lasted one season! This one joke wonder is a curse to all SUPERHEROES-STAN HOW COULD YOU?
However Lee and Anderson poked fun at Anderson's image and so called rep of playing dumb blonde characters with hearts of gold. Stripperella was no different, Stripper by night/Superhero by night was the cute tag line for the show.
For an adult sexual comedy, it was cute. It has bad jokes blended with bad innuendos...it satire that talked down to even adults. It was a 13 year old type jokes in an R rated cartoon. In my opinion that why the cartoon block that Spike TV started with failed badly> They tried Playboy humor in prime time and failed
Is it worth the price? I'd rather see Stacked (see my review, its funnier)....but it is an adult cartoon! (NOT MANY OF THEM!) As in animation , it was better than most stuff out there, but that not say much according to today's standard
