Evgeniy Onegin [Region 2] Reviews: Spendid performance 2004-05-03 - This version of "Eugene Oneghin" is one of the best; sung on stage, in Russian by Russians with extraordinary voices (all of them), filled with emotion, this interpretation displays all the beauty and sensibility of Ceaikovski's most popular opera.
Add to your collection! 2001-07-19 - I have the "movie" version which is very good. This production is sung very well by all of the cast. I'm not crazy about the sets but opera is about the music and singing foremost. This is worth having in any collection! Martin Thompson, tenor I've never heard before was a wonderful surprise and Prokina is just wonderful. I've heard her in person and of course, that's better but this cast is excellent, orchestra fine, conducting very good. I highly recommend.
Pushkin would have loved it 2000-02-04 - This VCR is a very nice version of the opera Eugene Onegin. It is extremely well sung and touchingly well acted. I think the preformers give us the characters as Pushkin ment them to be. The only flaw I find in this production is the poor stage decoration which deminishes the charm.
