It's the 80's, EVERYTHING was remixed! 
2008-08-24 - Paula is probably at the top of talentless 80's stars. She's actually pretty horrible, but the songs were catchy, and she had a cool wardrobe. These remixes are fun and dance-able. It's fun, but I wouldn't pay much for it.
Style Over Substance 
2008-08-19 - Mediocre vocalist who disguises her shortcomings by working with very talented producers who multi-layer and process her thin vocals. This is a perfect example of style over substance.
On the positive side...if you're looking for something to work out to rather than listen to, this CD would probably be perfect for you.
good remixes straight up!
2007-06-25 - i like paula abdul's shut up and dance because it has good remixes on it. my favorites are staght up, knocked out,cold hearted,forever your girl,one or the other,and the remix medley. you will like this remix album. i think randy,ryan,and simon will like it too. ed wilson
Upbeat, Lively Album, But How Would Randy And Simon Rate It?
2007-03-20 - I had heard "Cold Hearted" and "Straight Up" for a while before learning it was done by Paula.
Many of the other reviewers pointed out this is a good aerobic project. Allow me to mention what I noticed. There are eight cuts on it. The first seven are individual songs. The final one is a seven song medley which includes six of the seven songs already mentioned. ("One Or The Other" is not part of the medley, and is replaced by "State Of Attraction".)
If you want some good dance music, you would enjoy this.
