10/7/00 - Detroit, Michigan Reviews:
great performance by band, but Ed's voice weak 4 Star Review
2005-08-23 - I own only three of these bootlegs - Philadelphia 1, Washington and this one. I have mixed feelings about this one because while the rest of the band gives one of its best performances of the tour, Ed's voice is weak, and it shows. That's not to say he's not trying, not at all. It's clear he's giving it his all, but he sounds tired and his voice sounds like it wants to go home. I'll agree that this is an energetic performance, but when it comes to Ed it's like he's blowing his hardest through a broken kazoo. I know all I've done here is talk about how poor Ed's performance is, but again, I'm not saying it's his fault. I was just disappointed after hearing the other concerts (which are great, esp. Philly) and then hearing this one. Anyway, that's just my opinion.

Pearl Jam Professor 5 Star Review
2003-12-18 - As many of the other reviewers have written, this is one of the best from the entire '00 tour. High energy, lots of fun, and short but sweet. I actually like that this cd only has 25 songs. It ends at exactly the right time, on an awesome note. Instead of the crowd pleasing closer "Yellow Ledbetter", this one ends with "F**kin' Up" by Neil Young dedicated to a former Detroit Piston.....Easily a top ten performace from the tour, and one of the bands favorites as well (look for the evolution man on the back).

Solid performance, one of the best in the US leg. 5 Star Review
2001-12-30 - This show is brilliant! This show was played in Detroit, Michigan on 10/7/00. Pearl Jam comes in and waste no time with a slow song to start off the set, but they blast threw a great version of "Go". "Corduroy" and "Grievance" were played together alot during the tour, and in this show they are great. My favorite Pearl Jam song is "STATE OF LOVE AND TRUST" and it is Track 4 on this CD. This rendition of S.O.L.A.T is among the best in entire tour. "In My Tree" is played here, which was not played many times on the tour. It contains a very good version of this song. The rest of Disc 1 is unbelievable. Every song at this show was solid, with no mistakes. "RVM" was another highlight of this show. "Spin the Black Circle" was not played that many times on the tour, it was played here and it was excellent. One of the better versions of "Crazy Mary" was played here (Mike McCready plays a great solo). Finally "F*cking Up" ends this great show. This is a shorter Pearl Jam concert with 25 songs, but that does not take away from this show at all. **If I did not mention a song on this CD, that does not mean they were bad or anything like that, because every single song was outstanding! I named songs that were highlights to me. If you see a song on this CD that is your favorite, I guarantee you it is a great version of it** I cannot find any mistakes, if there are, they must be minor. If Pearl Jam made a top ten list of the best US shows, this will be on it. This is a must buy for PJ fans.

A Punishing Performance in Motown 5 Star Review
2001-11-01 - Disclaimer: Owner of all 72 official PJ bootlegs. Pearl Jam got off to a rather slow start with the third leg of the 2000 world tour, with a couple of below-average shows in Montreal and Toronto. But then they hit Detroit and kicked off a string of four spectacular shows in a row, continuing to East Troy, WI then Chicago and St. Louis. This gig in Detroit is rather short, but the performance is one of the most relentless and punishing of the entire tour, and there are many surprises in the set list. The fact that this show begins with the barnstormer "Go" should tell you something, especially since the band usually preferred to open shows with quiet numbers to build the tension. "State of Love and Trust" and "Tremor Christ" appear very effectively early in the set, and the band delivers extra slamming renditions of the heavy rockers "Animal," "Even Flow," and a rare "Spin the Black Circle." Some other surprises include a majestic "I Got S**t" and "In My Tree," in which Matt Cameron truly earns his keep as the latest of PJ's many "temporary" drummers (hope he becomes permanent). The dramatic "Parting Ways" closes the second set, leaving the crowd oohing and ahhing before the band pulls out a surprise show closer in Neil Young's "F***in' Up." Also, watch for Eddie Vedder's heartfelt apology for screwing up "Nothing As It Seems." This guy knows how to work a crowd.

Outstanding!!! A must-have! 5 Star Review
2001-07-22 - I was lucky enough to be in the front row at this show, so of course I had to get the cd to commemorate the occasion. I agree with the review below that this is the best "SOLAT" of the tour, and also one of the best "RVM" I've ever heard anywhere. Also a few funny moments between songs, like the "Esther sign" and the apology for the screw up during "Nothing As It Seems." The energy at this show was intense, and the crowd was one of the best of the many PJ shows I've been to (thanks to everyone there for a great night!). If you're only going to buy a few of the live cds, by all means put this one on your list. Also recommended: Chicago, Seattle 2, Milan, Ljublana, Jones 3, Boston 2, and Vegas.
