8/30/00 - Boston, Massachusetts Reviews: Paul Revere Isn't Riding Tonight 2001-11-18 - Disclaimer: Owner of all 72 official PJ bootlegs. This second bootleg from Boston is a little weaker than its predecessor, and suffers for a very un-enthusiastic performance by the band. There is trouble right from the beginning of the show, as the band forgets to perform a large chunk of "Release," and the song ends in utter confusion. Things perk up with strong renditions of "Animal" and "Hail Hail" early on, plus a surprise "In My Tree." But the band continues its unstructured and out-of-sync ways with the jam session in "Daughter," which suffers from a lack of cohesion in which nobody in the band can decide which way to go with the jam. Disc two begins with dreadfully out-of-tune takes on "Insignificance" and "Black," with first Eddie Vedder and then Mike McCready making major errors on guitar. This is a problem that also wrecks the closer, Young Neil's "Rockin' in the Free World," which is not the barnstormer that it is in the band's other renditions. As compared to all of the other bootlegs in this massive series, some just have to be below average, and unfortunately this is one of them.
Beautiful 2001-08-22 - I attended the Boston show on the previous night, 8/29/00, so this was my first opportunity to hear the second show 8/30/00. As soon as the opening riffs of "Release" began on this album I got chills and a knot in my stomach. Eddie and the PJ crew continue to amaze me. This concert played a greater variety of their older stuff whereas the night before consited of more songs from Binural. Both are awesome and a must for any PJ fan, especially one living in New England! :)
I cried 2001-04-18 - This was my 5th time seeing the greatest band in the world, and the second night at Great Woods (as we know and love it) was ten times better than the first night. Not to say that ANY show they do is bad! But the second night just had a totally different feeling to it. The first night was much more mellow and low key, but right from the start of the second night they ROCKED non-stop. I couldn't believe how hard and loud they kept it going. It was amazing. I was dancing in the aisles all night! My favorite song of the night being "Not for You". When I finally got my cd from tenclub, I put it in my cd player in my car and I couldn't believe the emotions that swept through me all over again. The quality was so beautiful it just brought me back there all over again and I began to cry. I will never forget those nights. Thank you to the people who decided to put these bootlegs out.
PJ in Beantown 2 2001-03-23 - The second Pearl Jam show in Boston is a good effort, but not the best from the tour. Unlike the first night, they don't have the interesting cover songs to make it a must have (although there is a blazing "Rockin' In The Free World"). The show does have roaring takes on "Not For You" & "State Of Love & Trust".
GOOD CROWD, GREAT SHOW 2001-03-06 - THIS WAS BY FAR THE BEST PJ SHOW I'VE EVER BEEN TO! I'VE BEEN TO OVER A DOZEN SHOWS, AND THIS ONE STANDS OUT IN MY MEMORY AS THE BEST. HIGHTLIGHTS INCLUDE RARE TUNES SUCH AS FOOTSTEPS, AND LEATHERMAN. ROCKING VERSIONS OF BRAIN OF J,DO THE EVOLUTION, AND RITFW.BOTH SHOWS IN BOSTON WERE GREAT BUT THE CROWD AT THE SECOND SHOW ROCKED!EV MENTIONS THAT BY THE WAY.ALL IN ALL A GOOD TIME AND A GREAT SET LIST.
