Besides a few B-sides I can put the rest a-side
2007-09-19 - A loyal and sweetly put together rarities double disc from Pearl Jam is an undeniable must in any fans collection simply for the handful of amazing tracks which sometimes even go further then their best (ten-era) material ever has. Tracks that any fan already probably heard from singles (Alone, Yellow Ledbetter) remain some of their strongest rock, capturing the underutilized McCready at his fiery best before the post-Vs, Vedder-induced subduing kicked in. For fans Lost Dogs undoubtedly scores big, and even first time listeners will enjoy a minority of The Jam in it's essence, but the majority remains fans-only turf. As a single disc the material definitely would have avoided the typical B-sides stench which plagues many artists, but as a double even Pearl Jam's impressive vaults yield some unspectacular riffs and slightly silly outings. The first disc has a higher ratio of these genre-stinkers, but as Ledbetter fades out and the superior disc two kicks in we are once again reminded of why there are many treats amongst the tricks.

Surprisingly good collection of previously uncollected....
2007-08-23 - With few exceptions, this collection of previously uncollected Pearl Jam tracks is remarkably good. My biggest surprise is why some of the better tracks were relegated to b-side status to begin with.

If you are a Pearl Jam fan, you owe it to yourself to obtain this album for your library. It is not a bunch of low grade throwaways and the price I paid Amazon was very good for a two disc set. The band has included track by track annotations.


PJ's Best since Yield
2007-05-11 - This is great to listen to. Love the collection of raritys and career spaning oddballs. If your a PJ fan you'll want this.

Great deal but a little warning
2006-11-11 - It's cool that PJ put all these hard-to-find songs on this album. Overall it's a must for the true PJ fan but I've got one majaor qualm - some of the songs are different recordings from the original B-sides from back in the day.

For example, on "Footsteps" a harmonica track was added - the original B-side didn't have that. It's cool to hear the harmonica and makes it sound different but I really enjoyed the more sparse rendition with just guitar and Eddie's voice.

"Alone" is also a different vesion than the original B-side. This one sounds a bit more raw (which can be good or bad) but it's just not the one I remember so dearly.

Once again, I love this album but just know that some of the songs sound different than the originals.

Lost And Found
2006-09-22 - The fact that these songs weren't considered good enough for any Pearl Jams studio albums says something about how good this band is. This album is a classic in its own right - even if they are just B-sides, any other band would be pleased to release a Greatest Hits album as good as this.
From 'Wash' and "Dirty Frank' from the Ten era to the more recent 'Down' and 'Undone' from Riot Act, all the Pearl Jam songs that you may or may not have missed over the years are here.
You remember them...Yellow Ledbetter, Footsteps, Alone, Last Kiss, Leavin Here, Hard To Imagine, they're all here....
Some of my favourite PJ tracks of all time are on here. Special mention must go to 'Hold On', 'Let Me Sleep', the instrumental 'Brother' and 'Strangest Tribe' which reminds me of 'The Doors - Indian Summer'.
Also listen out for the hidden track at the end of disc 2, which is Eddie's ode to the late Layne Staley of Alice In Chains.
