Editorial Review:
Updated for the third time to include Pink Floyd's activities in the late 1980s and 1990s, this biography includes the acrimonious split between Roger Waters and his three colleagues, David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Rick Wright, and also details of their "Division Bell" album and the tour that followed. It includes rare early photographs of Pink Floyd with their founder, Syd Barrett, biographies of each member of the band, posters and lost ephemera from the group's own collections, a chronology which lists every concert by the group, and a Floyd discography, including solo work and spin-off projects.

Pink Floyd: The Visual Documentary Reviews:
You loved it as a kid- the first and longest known Floyd book 5 Star Review
2009-10-04 - I wore a version of this out in my late teen/ early adulthood. This is the 'ur' document for all Floyd freaks. There are later, more interesting books- but it all began here for anyone interested in tracking down Floyd info. It is now delightfully archaic- but updated have kept it in time with the latest developments. A must own for Floyd fans.

Best Pink Floyd book! 5 Star Review
2003-09-20 - Look no further. This book is the best describing the history of Pink Floyd with quality images of Syd and the early Pink Floyd. The only thing close to this book is the video epic "VH1: Legends Syd Barret & Pink Floyd Story". Between this book and that video you will know everything about the history of Pink Floyd.

A must for Floyd fans 4 Star Review
2001-04-09 - The book is subtitled "a visual documentary" - however it's more like the band's diary and scrapbook. Every appearance, concert, recording session and disk is cataloged in this amazingly well researched volume. A must for Floyd fans. The band's early history, particularly the 1960s, is well documented. Also done well is the famous Roger Waters / David Gilmour rift - this difficult history is analyzed so we can see each point of view. As the founding members go their separate ways, they have different paths in the book's catalog of events.

The photographs are great and include many very early shots. I only wish that captions had been included, however. I'd like to know if any of the shows I attended were captured on film and included in the book.

The visual truth 5 Star Review
2000-03-12 - This book is a documantary for someone who knows about the real Pink Floyd. It zero's in on the older more contraversial stuff. It has some really rare photographs, very interesting. This book is a little harder to read than In the flesh cos it is ment for someone who knows a bit about the Floyd. All (most) of the Pink Floyd books I read focus in on The wall, or The darkside of the moon. I highly reccomend this book.
