Editorial Review: "Inside every woman is a Pussycat Doll," says Robin Antin, the creator of the singing-and-dancing ensemble that has risen from underground cool to major-label hot. "It's about female empowerment, about being confident with who you are. It's about singing and dancing in front of a mirror by yourself and having fun." With their debut album released by A&M Records in summer 2005 (led by "Don't Cha," a duet with Busta Rhymes, written and produced by Cee-Lo), the Pussycat Dolls go beyond being extraordinarily beautiful. With tremendous voices, and after working with today's top songwriters and producers, the Pussycat Dolls are ready to stamp their mark on music and on attitudes. "To me, a Pussycat Doll is fearless but also vulnerable," says lead singer Nicole Scherzinger. "We're strong but we like to play too. The line in 'Don't Cha'--'don't cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me'--is meant to be empowering. The Pussycat Dolls are not about just being hot but also about saying something with real feeling."From Scherzinger, who earlier scored a Top 10 album and single while in girl group Eden's Crush, to Jessica Sutta, the one-time captain of the Miami Heat dance troupe; from Carmit Bachar, the La Vida Loca girl on Ricky Martin's world tour, to Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt, two of the most talented young dancers in Hollywood, and Melody Thornton, a stunning singer chosen from an open audition, these Pussycat Dolls are the new incarnation--more contemporary, more street--of the group whose Sunset Strip performances became the hippest ticket in Hollywood.Description of PCD: Roll your eyes or--worse--invoke the Spice Girls all you want: Don't cha wish your girlfriend was hot like any one of the members of this revolving collective? Dissing the Pussycat Dolls is like denying you want a peek at the Victoria's Secret runway show--a foolhardy stance nobody's going to believe anyway. Never mind, for a moment, the semi-lewd pleasures of the disc's visuals (midriffs galore!): the pop on parade by this gang of writhers and eyelash-batters isn't bad. Nicole Scherzinger, a former member of the failed prefab teen pop act Eden's Crush, brings it with determination and carefully distributed shots of sweetness. More important, she gets high-wattage help. Busta Rhymes, Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am, and Timbaland all step in to dress up the Dolls' sound, and the songwriters' and producers behind PCD clearly know how to sexify a disc without sinking it into the gutter. What's best about the Dolls' debut, though, is its shamelessness. This is manufactured friskiness that doesn't take itself seriously; these girls don't want a Grammy, they only want to pounce. --Tammy La Gorce PCD Reviews: *Fun, Flirtatious, Fantastic, Flairs Of Dance* 2009-09-27 - The dance styles combined with the flirtatious and overflowing empowering "filled with attitude" lyrics make this a total smash! When listening to this album, there are no moments of feeling down since confidence shines throughout!
The soulful singing, back to disco sounds, and musical accompaniment make this a more than pleasurable experience. Above all, the tracks can get one feeling liberated, free, and happy to take on anything. Overall, there are great dance beats, catchy hooks, positive vibes, and much more to enjoy!
The words, the melodic dance beats, and the romantic moments can cause empathy to many who have been through a spiraling roller coaster with vast lovers. While the long ride and journey can be wild and tough, the songs prove that you are what your experiences make you: SPECIAL and HOT!
There are many excellent selections to take pleasure in but among the top songs recognized as hot dance club singles are "Don't Cha" (featuring Busta Rhymes), "Beep" (featuring Will.I.am) and the catchy "Wait A Minute" (featuring Timbaland). Aside those excellent songs, my other favorites would be "I Don't Need A Man" for the attitude lyrics and soulful singing, "Hot Stuff (I Want You Back)" since it reminds me of the disco Donna Summer days, "Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go" and "Bite The Dust" for the fast paced, energetic dance styles.
Good First Album... 2009-05-11 - If you can remember back in 2004, of a female artist named TORI ALAMAZE - she entered the charts at number 53 with her version of Don't Cha... Although her version, from my point of view, lacked emotion and any character, it was pretty catchy. With the little success of her singing it. She was dropped and the song was and became a hit for the Pussycat Dolls and was the lead single of their cd PCD.
1. Don't Cha (4.5 of 5) - Great first single for the girls... Although one wondered who was really singing the song and who was in the group one loved the song and video. Nicole showed she was the "Head Doll"
2. Beep (4 of 5) - Showed the girls dancing at their best aside from the Buttons video. Beep was a catchy hit that showed the girls flirting with their hotness. Showed a climpse of what Melody and Carmit had to offer to the group.
3. Wait a Minute (3 of 5) - Not a personal favorite of mine. This Nicole powered song had a hot video to make up for the lack there of, of a song. Timbaland had a good beat but just lacked lyrics.
4. Stickwitu (4 of 5) - Great ballad from the Girls. A sweet tweeny type song, where she is saying No one is going to love her better and she's going to stick with her man forever. A good song for the love birds.
5. Buttons (5 of 5) - Saultry is not the word for this sexy song. From the beginnig to the end, you get the sense of wanting to tease or put on a show when the song plays. Melody's rips go perfect and top the song. Best song on the album.
6. I Don't Need a Man (3.5 of 5) - A good break-up song. They are declaring their woman-hood in this song saying they don't a man to be happy, to get on with life. They are happy being who they are.
7. Hot Stuff (I Want You Back) (3 of 5) - Well, when you get to this track (along with another on the CD) you are giving a curveball. Trying to decide what really the girls were trying to get at. This song is neither good nor bad. It is so so. Not much to review on that one.
8. How Many Times, How Many Lies (4 of 5) - Nicole's writing and vocal skills are clear in this song. She knows what she wants and knows how to deliver a banger.
9. Bite The Dust (4 of 5) - Great intro to the song, it keeps you banging your head and fist to it. Melody again holds it down with the rips in the song.
10. Right Now (2 of 5) - This is the other curveball where the Dolls try and go back to the old times and it doesn't work with the CD. A filler track that could have been placed with then bonus track FLIRT.
11. Tainted Love/Where Did Our Love Go (3.5 of 5) - The Dolls performed this song on Fashion Rock and did a well job on it. Other dolls such as Carmit and Melody where able to show their skills off on National TV. Good track.
12. Feelin Good (4 of 5) - Shows the many vocal skills of Nicole. Its a feel good track like the title of it says. Nice and relaxed.
In all the CD is fairly good. 2 filler tracks and most of the others good have charted well, if released. Good efforts from the Dolls..
Not bad on the first try 2008-12-22 - PCD by The Pussycat Dolls is Forty-four minutes and twenty-two seconds and was released September 13, 2005. PCD reached #5 on U.S. Billboard 200 Albums chart (went triple Platinum) and #7 on U.S. Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart. Seven of the songs from the CD charted with Don't Cha and Buttons reaching number one in three different categories. Overall it is not a bad CD for the Pussycat Dolls debut album. Songs, Don't Cha, Beep, Right Now are great songs to listen to. The only downside to the album (and they are not alone), if it is not broke then don't fix it. Tainted Love\Where Did Our Love Go is cover songs. Soft Cell did a better to Tainted and the same goes with Where Did Go performed by The Supremes. Even with that one bad song; I would still recommend this CD to anybody. PCD by The Pussycat Dolls gets an AAA+++.

Not what they initially seem 2008-08-22 - Some people assume things about this group that are just not true. Yes, these girls somewhat rely on their sex appeal to give them a fan base, however their songs attract women, and are not completely distasteful. Their songs put women first, unlike copycats of theirs who use sex appeal in both their look and their lyrics to turn everyone off. Christina Applegate was the actress who initially stuck with the Pussycat Dolls when they were still a burlesque group, and other actresses like Pamela and Carmen merely passed through to get their chance to become a part of the Pussycat Dolls for a short time, not to fuel their image.
another awesome girl group of this decade 2008-08-09 - over the past decade, definatly there were 2 girl groups that really got my attention, one being "destiny's child" and the other one "mis-teeq" those 2 girl groups had huge success early this decade worldwide and this new girl group the pussycat dolls does remind me of them in a very simular way.
in each of these famous girl groups there are 3 definatly main female singers in them that made them famous, for mis-teeq there was "alesha dixon" who has her debut solo cd coming out this year. for destiny's child there is "beyonce knowles" who had alot of success solo in the past and now we have the pussycat dolls with nicole scherzinger!
And yeah i loved thier debut album and it had many hit singles, several up beat dancey tracks especially. the entire cd is very good also and i cannot wait for their next album, and nicole and alesha's new cds too!!
