Pussycat Dolls - Live in London Reviews:
Feel Good & Funk-alicious!
2009-09-26 - If anything is certain it is that the Pussycat Dolls know how to entertain in dancing, performing live, singing, and portraying much appeal for their "show" stopping fans of global masses from all over. This is Live From London and features the Live Show, Music Videos, Meet The Dolls, Extras, and Dress Like A Doll. There's all types of styles to enjoy from dance, hip-hop infused, to ballads, mid-tempos, and even Middle-Eastern hints. This is a much underrated selection as the DVD is packed with catchy hit songs, fabulous choreography, and an in depth look of what the Pussycat Dolls are like up-close, behind the scenes, and more!
The Live In London shows has performances of "Buttons", "Beep", "I Don't Need A Man", "Feelin' Good", "Stickwitu", "Show Me What You Got", "Wait A Minute", and "Don't Cha". There are screens in the background that show clips of the featured artists from time to time as well as much interaction with the crowds. The entire singing is live not lip-synched. Nicole does an excellent job along the other girls in belting out great vocal pitches that go nicely depending on the track. The overall listening of the songs live is different as the beats vary, the intonations are diverse, and the sounds on some have more instrumentation not heard on the regular versions. The physical shape of the dolls is top notch quite inspiring to purchase their upcoming work-out DVD titled, Pussycat Dolls Workout. For the curious, "Show Me What You Got" is just each doll introduction with a short dance number to give a glimpse to the audience of what they got. The outfits fit the themes nicely, the confidence by the girls are outstanding, and the vibe is definitely great with much audience clapping, waving, and participating.
The videos are all excellent as they elevate moods with songs like "Buttons" featuring Snoop Dogg bringing Middle-Eastern hints along rap and much fantasy elements to loosen up and feel in the mood for fun. There is behind the scenes of "Beep" featuring Will.I.Am, and "Buttons" featuring Snoop Dogg as well as the actual videos for them. The featured artists are present in "Don't Cha"featuring Busta Rhymes, "Beep" feat. Will.I.Am, "Buttons" feat. Snoop Dogg, and "Wait A Minute" featuring Timbaland. The video, "I Don't Need A Man" is my favorite for the message that it's not necessary to have a man to feel happy. It has nice visuals, great empowering messages, and the catchy, "I don't need a ring around my finger" to feel complete.
As the video is viewed and the concept behind their style is explained it becomes quite understandable as to why they wear the clothes they wear, dance in that fashion, and portray the image. The "Meet The Dolls" has each doll talking a little about themselves. The extra section has "The Rise of The Dolls", "PCD The Music", "Don't Cha" Karaoke Version, and Dress Like A Doll. The girls all talk about their favorite music artist that influenced them and how they love what they do. You get to see Nicole going to the studio, hanging out with Snoop clips and how she feels about it. She mentions the music to have many different influences from pop, R&B to even rock. There is a part where Ron plays the piano and Nicole is singing "Stickwitu". Overall, this is an excellent DVD to get to know who the Pussycat Dolls are, the concept behind their music, and the viewing of the videos and live show. This is a show stopping sensational selection definitely to play non-stop!
Live in London PCD DVD
2009-09-11 - This DVD contains everything you'd want to see in a music DVD. A little live, A little video production, interviews and history of the Pussycat Dolls and how they came together. I'm all about the behind the scenes, as well as the final production. This DVD takes you through it all. I absolutely love it!
They are hot
2008-06-02 - The Pussycat Dolls - Live in London concert video was very hot. Great music, vocals and dance. I would recommend it highly.
So so
2008-02-08 - Maybe this group should have waited awhile before producing a live concert DVD. The production values on this one were really amateur. Very small club, no pizazz or good lighting. Kind of like watching a show at your neighborhood bar. I expected more and wouldn't buy another of their DVD's.
PCD Live
2007-12-02 - I was totally dissappointed with this DVD. If that was really their live show in London I feel very sorry for their fans. It was like they were just singing in my living room. The stage was a joke. It was sooo small.
There was no stage show at all, no pizzaz, nothing.
Again it was a big dissappointment.
