2000-10-30 - Although Grammy Award winning composition, "I Believe I Can Fly" by R. Kelly crossed over and touched millions, it failed to convince me that R. Kelly had the talent and staying power of a bonafide composer and vocalist. R. Kelly's latest, "I Wish" speaks to his roots in the Black Church and is lyrically inspirational in a way that goes far beyond all previous attempts. "I Wish" again crosses over, but takes with it the following of Generation X as well as the traditonal R&B, Rock and Pop fans of the previous generation. My prediction is that R. Kelly's latest promises to go platinum and beyond both domestically and internationally. Kudos, R., you've come a long way from "12 Play". YJH
