Editorial Review:
A double disc may seem indulgent after barely a decade in the biz, but after meandering through the commercial minefields of innocent fun (1992's Born into the 90's), pure raunch (1993's 12 Play), and pop crossover (1995's R. Kelly), R. Kelly has come close to the perfect mix--and if it takes two discs to do so, why not? There are still moments of indulgence (the forced theatrics of "The Opera") and the occasional venture into mediocrity ("Did You Ever Think?"), but the sheer funk of tracks like "Home Alone" (a head bobber featuring Keith Murray) and "Dollar Bill" (featuring--surprise!--Foxy Brown) allows you to overlook such cracks in the formula. Other bit players in this star vehicle include Cam'Ron, Noreaga, Jay-Z, Nas, and (yes) Celine Dion. --Rebecca Wallwork
R. Reviews:
a Very,Very,Very Good Disc by the Music King
2005-08-15 - the Most Versatile&Greatest Musican overall that I have Ever Heard. there are Great Writers,Arrangers,Producers,Musicians,singers,Conceptionalists,etc.... but very, very few people have ever been able to come even half way close at blending as many things as R.kelly. this Double Disc Set is His "Songs in the Key of Love". R.kelly blends R&B,Pop,Hip-Hop,Gospel,Blues,Opera,etc...&makes it all as One.R.kelly is the Musical Genius of Our time.who else can have Celine Dion&Jay Z on the same Album&Make it all work? no one else but the "R" could pull it off. I Believe I Can Fly,If I Could turn back the hands of time, when a Woman's Fed Up,Home Alone all those Cuts are different&Showcase the Veresatility of R.Kelly's Genius. most Artists at best have 1-2 styles,R.Kelly has about 5 which he can Beat you with.R.Kelly makes it all look so easy. 29 tracks&the Man just keeps on rolling.

Collection.SO GO AND BUY IT!.
Not a rap fan....yet
2001-09-03 - This white girl has a lot of soul but didn't think it was a genre I could enter. R. Kelly is pure funk and a pleasure I should have been into a long time ago. Thanks, R. I needed that!
The R.
2000-11-04 - R Kelly is constantly improving his art as is clearly evident in his growing inventory of projects. R. has not only displayed R Kelly's versatility but has also revealed how dynamic an artist he is. The R. is irrefutably a musical genius.
Better Each Time
2000-09-30 - With R. Kelly, you know that the newest release will always superscede those before it. Each CD has always proven to be greater than the last. R. Kelly is one artist who has proven that he has what music needs: versatility. He has been my favorite artist since he arrived on the music scene with Public Announcement.
