Editorial Review:
The King of R&B Lovers Rock Returns with his Smooth Grooves and Distinct Arrangements that Continue to Set Ladies' Hearts on Fire with Desire.
Description of TP-2.Com:
The first single off of R. Kelly's TP-2.com, "I Wish," might be a moving memorial to a dead friend, but the main theme on his latest CD is sex. The first tip-off that Kelly has left the spirit world to concentrate on nookie is the CD title, which refers back to his mid-'90s smash 12 Play. Back then, Kelly made his name with a take-no-prisoners (if somewhat obvious) sensuality. Yet now this loveman sounds conflicted and ill at ease. He might offer to "Strip for You," he might lay claim for a girl who's "Like a Real Freak," he might even promise his lady "The Greatest Sex," but his manner is so tentative and so self-reflective it makes one wonder how hot the loving could really be. Kelly has been expanding his creative repertoire over the course of his past two CDs, and his latest motif is a sort of stream-of-consciousness style that constantly returns to the main thrust of the argument: a circular groove. At its best (the triumphant "I Wish"), this style is emotional and emphatic. At its worst, or when Kelly insists on using it over and over, it's the musical equivalent of having a drunk poke you in the arm repeatedly to make his point. On "Fiesta," Kelly literally builds a song out of this annoying rhythmic tic, and it's like he's on a treadmill, never getting anywhere. TP-2.com is raw and romantic, but it becomes too redundant to truly sustain the passion. --Amy Linden
TP-2.Com Reviews:
R Kelly... TP2.COM
2009-02-17 - As any R Kelly fan knows, "Kells" never disappoints. I picked up TP2.Com and found the entire CD pleasing to my ears. The CD has a great play list, the vocals are hot and the beats are the best to groove to. If you are looking for a nice, sultry groove CD to listen to, with the normal R Kelly romantic overtones, this is it. I hope this helps. YMMV....NEOSOUL
When R Kelly was king part 4
2009-02-12 - Three albums in and R Kelly missed a beat. As a matter of fact he sounds like he is in the best shape of his life in this release. Everything that comes after the Chocolate Factory is questionable.
I Wish was a cool single. It a was a farewell ode to his deceased friends that was nice but like I keep saying slow jams is where R Kelly usually soars. Strip For You, The Greatest Sex, Just Like That, I Decided and All I Really Want is R Kelly at his best. I Dont Mean It is one of those song that remind why R Kelly is in a league of his own. Very few R&B artists can make records apologizing to the women they hurt sound as good as I Dont Mean It and I Cant Sleep Baby(off of his second LP). Some of the party joints are okay like Fiesta and R&B Thug. A Woman's Threat and The Storm Is Over Now are beautiful records. As Much as I want to give this album five stars I cant. One Me and I Mean(I Dont Mean It) are filler and Don't You Say No is plain dumb. Besides these little missteps this album is damn good.
TP-2.Com is a great release from a phenomenal artist that made history with each top notch album he made as well as making his mark in the music industry. Every album before Happy People/U Saved Me is worth checking out because they show R Kelly's strength whereas his later album show you his weaknesses.
Standouts: STRIP FOR YOU, THE GREATEST SEX, I DON'T MEAN IT, JUST LIKE THAT, I WISH(original and remix), A WOMAN'S THREAT, I DECIDED and THE STORM IS OVER NOW.
The Best R&B/Soul Album ever made...5-Star Classic !!!
2009-01-20 - Simply all the songs that are on the album are flawless, relaxing, fresh and classic. You got to admit that R.Kelly is a genius when you talk about doing music. For me he is one of the best R&B Singers ever to live and he prove this on this Classic. From the very first song the Self title song : "TP-2" to the last one The Inspirational "The Storm Is Over Now" is just classic material. R.Kelly is the type of artist that doesn't bored you when you listen to his CD's because every song is different. And even thought this is 12 Play Part 2 (TP-2.Com) this is better than 12 Play 1 (it was more sexual than the second one) but more meantful in his songs. Well this is my rating for the songs on the album:
1) TP-2: 9/10
2) Strip for You: 10/10
3) R&B Thug : 9/10
4) Greatest sex: 10/10
5) I Don't Mean It: 10/10
6) Just Like That: 10/10
7) Like A Real Freak: 9/10
8) Fiesta (The Original) feat. Boo & Gotti: 10/10
9) Don't You Say No: 10/10
10) The Real R.Kelly: 8/10
11) One Me: 10/10
12) I Wish: 1000/10
13) A Woman's Threat: 20/10
14) I Decided: 10/10
15) I Mean It (I Don't Mean It)-Remix: 9/10
16) I Wish (Remix)- To The Homies that We Lost- 10/10
17) All I Really Want: 10/10
18) Feelin On Your Booty: 20/10

As you see it surpass the highest standards. Just go and buy it and put it on your car and bump it up, put it on your house when cleaning and if you got the chance put it on the bedroom. But program the Bedroom Ballads for the action...remember that. Buy it least 2 Copies : One for your car and other for your house. You will not get disapointed. Trust me. Confie en mi...Okay !!!

R. Kelly - TP2. Com
2008-05-03 - Normally i like to be alot more in depth with my reviews and really break down albums for you guys. But honestly, theres really not a whole lot to be said about this album besides its the best R&B album of the last 20 years, from the best R&B singer/producer/songwriter of the last 20 years, period. There really isnt words that can express how truly amazing this album is. Its in a league of its own. And the sad thing about it is, this album really gets looked over alot. It doesnt get nearly the credit it deserves. R. Kelly created a masterpiece with this album. This album is what helped make R. Kelly the legend he is today. He is our generations Marvin Gaye, but better. No offense to Marvin, because he is a legend as well, but even Marvin hasnt been able to accomplish half of what Kells has. And this album just shows how bright of a star Kells is. His star is blinding. But i still dont think he gets the credit he deserves. People shouldnt even be considering Usher better than R. Kelly. Ushers not even close. Usher is damn good, i love Usher. But no one comes close to R. Kelly. Say what you want about his private life, and his scandals, but he is untouchable in the music industry, plain and simple. And this album couldnt have been made by any other artist in the industry. TP2 is a front to back classic. Every song is good, so i dont think i can really say much about any songs in particular. I mean, if i had to absolutely pick one song that i like the best, it would be a toss up between the sugary sweet mellow accoustic laced "All I Really Want", The ultimate love song that makes you wanna just fall madly in love "Just Like That", and the really good mid tempo love song "I Decided". And the other 16 tracks are all just as good. Just trust me, if you any sort of respect for the man or the genre, buy this album.
Grade:
UNTOUCHABLE (A+++)
TP-2.Com - actually 4.5 stars
2007-12-27 - Without a doubt R. Kelly is one of the most prolific male r&b artists who I agree with another poster is on the level of Marvin Gaye. Early on I noticed the similarities between the two in their music - the ability to sing truly moving songs that touched on spirituality while at the same time writing/producing & singing some of the most sensuous & sexually charged songs.
I bought this cd initially for the standout track, I WISH - the song touched my heart and in my opinion is one of R's greatest hit singles. I gave the disc 4.5 stars because at 19 tracks it is bloated and contains a few filler tracks that should've been left off but it's easy enough to skip over those.
The songs that stay on repeat for me are: STRIP FOR YOU, JUST LIKE THAT, FIESTA, A WOMAN'S THREAT, DON'T YOU SAY NO, THE STORM IS OVER & I DECIDED.
Two other tracks get honorable mention: THE REAL R KELLY - a hilarious skit and FEELIN ON YO BOOTY - I truly thought he'd lost his mind the first time I heard this song, particularly the operatic ending but over time I've come to appreciate his vocal performance & ignore the song content.
Listening to this disc again makes me appreciate what a stand-out r&b artist R Kelly was and I long for him to regain the creative flow that he had during his early years.
