    Description of Beautiful Creatures:
Petula (Rachel Weisz) meets Dorothy (Susan Lynch) when Dorothy smacks a lead pipe into the head of Petula's boyfriend, who was strangling Petula at the time. Thus begins the darkly comic thriller Beautiful Creatures--a little bit Thelma & Louise, a little bit Alfred Hitchcock at his most sardonic. When Petula's boyfriend dies, she and Dorothy cook up a scheme to extort money out of the boyfriend's rich and vicious older brother--a scheme that would probably have fallen to pieces until an investigating police detective named George starts to help it along for devious reasons of his own. Soon Dorothy and Petula are coping with a bitten-off finger, Dorothy's own nasty boyfriend, a salesclerk with a bondage fetish, and more. Fans of movies with a similarly deadpan tone (like Bound, Fargo, and Pulp Fiction) will love the film's caustic humor, and both Weisz and Lynch are delightful. Fast-paced and unpredictable, Beautiful Creatures is a witty thriller that deserves attention. --Bret Fetzer

    Beautiful Creatures Reviews:
BEAUTIFUL CREATURES DVD 5 Star Review
2009-04-28 - GREAT MOVIE. GIRLS AND THEIR PINK GERMAN SHEPHERD TAKE ON THE BAD GUYS. LONG A FAVORITE OF MINE I WAS HAPPY TO FIND IT AVAILABLE AND AT A LOW PRICE. DVD WAS NEW IN PACKAGE AS DESCRIBED. SHIPPING WAS FAST. AN EXCELLENT TRANSACTION.

Humorous, startling and entertaining film 3 Star Review
2007-05-31 - Two beautiful women meet by chance when one is being throttled by her boyfriend in an alley. The other also suffering an abusive relationship picks up a pipe to aid the woman and accidentally kills the man. The women concoct a kidnapping to cover up the murder but nothing goes as planned in this dark Comedy of Errors meets Thelma and Louise; except with a happier ending... at least for the women. It is a humorous, startling and entertaining film with a lot of evil men who like to threaten, control and abuse women. The women are meek and compliant in the beginning but really come into their own by the end.

A Great Dark Comedy And Ms. Weisz Is So HOT!!! 5 Star Review
2005-09-24 - This movie is about two women who are caught in bad relationships until certain events occure to free them of their domestic shackles. These two ladies might be abused by their men but are in no way "Profesional Victims' as so many women in Hollywood movies are portrayed.Ms. Weisz is beautiful as always and has a very sexy English accent and a great flair for comedy which is why I give this movie 5 stars.

Sans Brad Pitt--still the better film 5 Star Review
2005-04-25 - Two young women, one exceptionally beautiful, are involved with highly abusive men. They seem unable to extract themselves from these indiviual violent relationships until events pull them apart. In spite of the violence, this is actually a darkly humorous movie, laugh out loud, and well worth seeing. There are no decent men in this picture, all are twisted or corrupt and violent. That is too bad. A sense of balance here would have been better. The acting is very good and the background of Glasgow is a pleasant change. There is a Thelma and Louise quality to it without the attributes of Brad Pitt. That said, this is the better film.

The movie has style 4 Star Review
2003-10-22 - Sometimes the plot is not important and sometimes neither is acting. I actually found the acting in this movie quite mediocre. Nonetheless, all this is not important. The movie has style and you can see this from the start. It is quite rare and I value this very much.
