Sehnsucht Reviews:
A MUST HAVE!
2004-11-27 - I got this disk from friend of mine and at first I was sceptical about it,but after a few listenings i was hooked it,s a really good disk.I highly recommed it.
love them
2004-06-25 - Whether I understand what they're saying or not,I still love their songs.
Du hast, Du hasst
2004-01-03 - Well, to get this over with, I think everyone should chek out both www.herzeleid.com, and http://dict.leo.org. Type in Du hast at dict.leo.org, and it will show you what that means. The point in keeping the confusion was so that the double meaning could shine through. Obviously it's confused a lot of people who don't want to do their research.
But the real point here is that this is a great album. I adore each and every last song on it. I can't pick a favorite song on here, though I've tried. It's very good for people who like Evanesence, Metallica, Depeche Mode, or even Disturbed. I completely recommend it. Pick it up and enjoy!
Great Album
2003-09-23 - This is a great album of theirs. Its definitely better than "Herzeleid" but that one has good songs on it too. If you get this also get "Mutter" because that has some killer songs on it. I recomment it 100%.
By the way, for the people arguing whether its "You Hate" or "You Have", the answer is both. In the REAL german version "You have" makes sense while in Rammstein's translated song "You hate" also makes sense. Here's how:
in German, it says:
"Du hast mich gefragt, Und ich hab nichts gesagt"
meaning "You have asked me, and I have not answered". The words "you hate" substituted for "you have" would not have made the least sense here.
Their official translation is:
"You hate me to say, but I did not obey"
I think the point they are trying to get across in english is something along the lines of "you want me to answer, but I wont so you hate me because of that." So I guess that proves that the real version says "You Have." Rammstein's own english translation to "You hate" also makes sense because the context its used in. Hope that helps!
Great album
2003-07-10 - This album is probably one of the best ive ever bought in my life. Ill review it song by song. 1.Sehnsucht 9/10:the title track. its kind of slow and it uses a lot more keyboard than most of the other songs.
2.Engel 9.5/10:its another slower song but one of my favorites
3.Tier 10/10:this songs got a great beat and catchy lyrics that make it one of my favorite songs of all time
4.Bestrafe Mich 9/10: its starts out kinda weird but builds up into a good song
5.Du Hast 10/10:the song that started rammstein's success in the U.S. very catchy song.its the kind that stays stuck in your head for hours
6.Buck Dich 10/10:very good song but the lyrics in english are uh interesting[in english Buck dich means "bend down"]
7.Spiel Mit Mir 8/10:very soft and slow song i normally dont like those kind of songs but this one is pretty good
8.Klavier 8/10:typical rammstein song,softer singing blasting chorus
9.Alter Mann 9/20:has great vocals
10.Eifersucht 10/10:very cool electronic song has great guitar, keyboard, everything
11. kuss Mich[Fellfrosch]6/10:for some reason i dont like this song as much as the others but its still ok
and for the english tracks i would give them both a 7/10 because they are pretty good but not as good as the originals
Overall this is a great album and if you like bands like Nine Inch Nails and KMFDM then i would highly recommend it.
