Sonne Reviews:
Rammstein's Sonne is the best song I have ever heard. 5 Star Review
2009-11-30 - Sonne is not only my favorite Rammstein song, but also my favorite song by any artist I have ever heard. Thus, when I discovered this single, I was very excited. Sonne, or Sun, is a song that is both heavy and beautiful. It is so simple, yet so complex. The guitars are heavy and solid, the drums are loud and booming, and the vocals are sung beautifully (in German of course). There is no guitar solo, but there are female vocalizations which are actually samples from Spectrasonic's Symphony of Voices, but beautiful none-the-less. The song is multi-layered, but it all fits together perfectly to create a mind-blowing work of art. Sonne is simply an amazing song and I never get tired of listening to it. Included on this single are the album versions of Sonne and Adios, both from the album Mutter. There are also two remixes of Sonne, the K.O. remix and the T.K.O. remix, both from a band called Clawfinger. The K.O. remix is shorter than the original and is a bit heavier, even though it contains more techno music. The T.K.O. remix features even more techno, but is slower and therefore longer than the original. The best part of this single for me, however, is the instrumental version of Sonne. It is basically the same as the original, except that it has no vocals from Till Lindemann. It does, however, still have the background choir, an element of the song that really stands out on this version, creating very moving music that is even more unique than the original song. I highly recommend this single to those who consider Sonne to be one of their favorite songs and to Rammstein collectors. It is well worth the money.

Kick a s s 5 Star Review

Die Sonne scheint mir aus den Händen... 5 Star Review
2003-11-26 - After hearing Rammstein's song "Asche zu Asche" (which I didn't like very much), I was somewhat unsure as to how good Rammstein really was. But after hearing Sonne, I was hooked. Sonne is an absolutely wonderful song. I highly recommend it.

The perfect Rammstein CD single 5 Star Review
2001-11-01 - Rammstein never cease to amaze me. I became a fan some time ago, attracted not only by their smashing and near-addictive music, but also by their uniqueness. Seldom does one find a band that is so original in the work they put out and so realistic in the themes they sing about. I am picky with the bands I hold near and dear (and there are only a select few to which I intently listen), but Rammstein has far exceeded my expectations, especially with their recent 2001 releases, which culminated with their fine album MUTTER, but began with this current single under review, entitled SONNE.

This single was released on February 12, 2001, the first tidbit of new material from Rammstein since 1998. This single is absolutely perfect; the songs it has drawn together fit so magnificently; the remixes by the Scandinavian band Clawfinger (tracks 3 and 4) are in themselves amazing, almost like they were separate pieces. They do Rammstein honour in remixing "Sonne," which in several online opinion polls, ranks as one of the most popular songs in recent days by them. Its apocalyptic tone, yet ambiguous meaning makes you imagine vast arrays of imagery; one can only speculate as to what Rammstein just might be pointing toward. Without the words (the instrumental version), the song engrosses the listener even more so, because sole music has no boundaries for an active imagination. A similar line can be drawn with the song "Adios," which seems to be narrating the experience of a desperate (and dependent) drug user. Tracks one and two would later appear on the MUTTER album.

The tracklisting is as follows:

(1) Sonne (4:32)
(2) Adios (3:48)
(3) Sonne (Clawfinger K. O. Remix) (4:11)
(4) Sonne (Clawfinger T. K. O. Remix) (5:49)
(5) Sonne (Instrumental) (4:31)

An amazing prelude to Rammstein's fine album MUTTER; although two more singles were released following its appearance (and one more is supposedly in the making), SONNE definitely tops them all. Absolutely amazing and riveting music; I highly recommend it!

Cool Gothic Style 5 Star Review
2001-05-29 - The music is really Gothic and is somthing like the music that would be found within a Tim Burton movie. After recently seeing the music video for SONNE i would just like to say that it was a great orginal spin on the orginal Snow White fairytale
