Editorial Review:
2 live CDs, 1 live DVD, 1 documentary DVD
Volkerball (Limited Edition) Reviews:
If you love Rammstein, you'll love this
2009-04-24 - I love the item. I knew about the shows, but don't get that many chances to see them live since I live in the states. It was a great oppertunity to watch the brilliant theatre and amazing music that Rammstein brings to a live show.
The photobook was interesting, it was largely of fans, but again I am a huge fan, so just seeing the backstage pictures of the set being put up and the band sitting around in the dressing rooms was worth it. I think the average fan could live without the limited edition with the photobook and all, but for a fanatic it is a must have.
This set is legendary
2008-05-30 - If you are a hardcore Rammstein fan, this is the package for you. If you're a casual fan, the extremely huge tour-book, the exclusive CD and the second DVD aren't really worth it, to be honest. You probably won't really care about the huge pictures, the second CD has some good tracks on it, but a casual fan won't really miss them and the second DVD is two documentaries, therefore, if you really only like Rammstein a little bit, it might not really interest you.
Rammstein fanatics, however, will probably appreciate this package.
A real treat - worth every penny
2008-01-18 - Rammstein gives its fans a treat - a deluxe, limited edition box set with a wealth of great content - but it doesn't come cheap. Breaking it down, you get two DVDs (one of a live concert, one of a documentary), two live DVDs, and a beautiful collection of photos. Is it worth close to $100? It depends on how fanatical you are about your Rammstein. It was sure worth it to me, but you'll have to decide for yourself. Fortunately, if this seems a bit expensive, you can always go for one of the cheaper editions.
As with "Live Aus Berlin", the sound quality is excellent. The mix is near studio quality and, for the most part, the performance is top notch. There is some crowd noise, but it's never obtrusive. The weak link is the same as the previous live release - Till's vocals. They aren't terrible by any means, but he's barking out the lyrics rather than singing them. It hurts the songs a bit, but not so much that I wouldn't still highly recommend this set. And yes, he does have his hands full with all sorts of pyro equipment!
The song selection is great. Now that Rammstein has five studio albums under their belt, they can form a really great live set without necessarily playing everything they've ever done. It makes for a concert of nothing but high points.
If you're at all interested in Rammstein, I strongly urge you to pick up Volkerball in one of its forms. Even if you just want the basic DVD, it's totally worth it. Their live show is second to none. For the super fans, this purchase is a no-brainer. I know you'll enjoy it.
Its Rammstein, did you expect anything less?
2008-01-13 - Anything from Rammstein is always quality. You can't expect anything less from them. Vokerball is no different. Awesome.
Perfect for a Rammstein Fan
2007-10-20 - Understand when you purchase this that it's a BIG BOOK with 4 discs attached to the inside of the cover. I was really surprised. However, I'm an obsessive Rammstein fan, so I was glad for all the stuff. The concert footage is really good, and gives a glimpse of the new gimmicks for the recent songs. The book is just pictures, but if you're into that it's lots of fun and really good quality. If you aren't a Rammstein fanatic, I'd still recommend Volkerball, just a lesser version of it (Regular or Special).
