    Description of Dominick and Eugene:
Ray Liotta stars as a talented medical intern whose life is stalled due to his devotion to a sweet-natured but retarded twin brother (Tom Hulce). This touching film by Robert M. Young (The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez) may sound like a dreary, made-for-television potboiler, but it is full of interesting moments as Hulce's character--a garbage collector--follows his curiosity about the world and his sibling's new girlfriend (Jamie Lee Curtis). Young really works the bond between the two men: at one point he takes an overhead shot of the brothers showering, and it resembles what they must have looked like together as babies sharing the same womb. Hulce and Liotta are great together; it is easy to believe in every emotion they share. --Tom Keogh

    Dominick and Eugene Reviews:
Great movie, it will move you 5 Star Review
2009-11-20 - This was a great movie. Unlike a lot of movies there's no overt manipulation of your emotions here, it's just a story unfolding and the acting is great - both Ray Liotta and Tom Hulce are pitch perfect. And the story is a good one. Not sure everyone would feel the same way but I was really moved by it.

One of the best underrated movies ever 5 Star Review
2009-04-13 - I have always enjoyed watching this movie, from the time I was about 12 years old. The characters are so enjoyable and realistic, and the emotions they portray are excellent. I have recommended this movie to all my friends, due to the overall entertainment it provides. There's drama, suspense, humor, sadness, a little violence, and all of this in a movie you can even watch with your children!

    A Heart-Wrenching Film 4 Star Review
2009-02-07 - If you have any kind of heart and compassion for people, this is a tough movie to watch, at least in the second half of it.

It's in that segment - *** spoiler alert *** - where we see nice little kid get beaten up and then a retarded (mentally- challenged) man go off the deep end after he witnesses this brutal act against the child. It's not pleasant material.

However, it's a good movie and the acting is good, too. The story will sit with you awhile.

"Dominick" is the mentally-disabled guy and is played by Tom Hulce. I think this might be Hulce's best role ever. He's looked after by a med student, "Eugene," played by Ray Liotta, who became a star the following year with Kevin Costner's "Field Of Dreams."

Dominick is a goodhearted garbage man who reads "Hulk" comic books and loves wrestling. He's the type of "slow" guy that you can't help but love and root for to live a happy life. When he freaks out, it's for several good reasons and...well, see the film for the whole story.

It's worth your time but be prepared to go on real emotional roller coaster and possibly be very upset at some things you see.

    Excellent 4 Star Review
2007-12-13 - This is one of my favorite films. Its a sweet, well written story of a mentally challenged man(played by Tom Hulce) and his twin brother(Ray Liotta) and their life together. Tom Hulce gives and outstanding and under rated, often subtle and moving perfomance. This movie will make you laugh, cry and think. THis movie is the antidote to Forest Gump and Radio.

Italians without gangsters. 5 Star Review
2007-08-16 - The previous reviewers are all right: this is a soul wrenching, tear jerking, should-have-won-an-Oscar movie. It is a beautiful story of two brothers, and of the love and secret pain of the past that they share. Hulce's acting is superb, and both Liotta and Curtis are impressive. Dominik and Eugene is also refreshing as a story of Italian American characters with no gangsters in sight. A must-own movie that also makes a wonderful gift.
