Bob Whipple is a sportswriter who feels his life is going nowhere. When he learns that America’s most beloved white rap star has been murdered, he decides to hunt down his killer by becoming…The Whip! Now, a vigilante superhero without any real superhero powers, The Whip flashes through the night rescuing those in need. His escapades lead him to his high-school girlfriend Anne (Joey Lauren Adams) now an animal-rights crusader. When she asks Bob to help her save rabbits, things start looking up. But when Bob finds out that his prime suspect in the murder has kidnapped his ex-girlfriend, he must transform into the superhero he really is and save her life.

2007-06-15 - Despite apparently suffering from a director without a funny bone, more less experience directing comedies there are a few really good scenes. The satirical treatment of rap videos was hilarious. It does drag at points and some of the humor is esoteric. Overall it's worth watching if you're not expecting Oscar nominations for best comedy... Silly, rediculous situations, satire and goofy are keywords for this movie. As romantic comedies go, guys are more likely to like this one than most.

2007-05-23 - one of the worst movies I have ever seen. the acting (what acting?), the dialogue, the plot--was this someone's grade school project. I don't know how it ended; I couldn't watch any more. the bunny was cute.
