The evolution continues in this "exhilarating thrill ride" (Seattle Post-Intelligencer) that features the extraordinary original X-Men - along with amazing new mutants possessing fantastic powers that have to be seen to be believed. In the wake of a shocking attack on the President, the X-Men face their most dangerous mission ever. They must stand united with their deadliest enemies to combat a menace that threatens every mutant on the planet. But could this new alliance backfire and annihilate the human race? Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Hale Berry, Famke Janssen and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos star in this breathtaking, action-packed spectacle that "may be the best superhero movie yet made!" (San Francisco Examiner)

Description of X2 - X-Men United (Widescreen Edition):
X2 does a fine job of picking up where X-Men left off, giving fans more of what they liked the first time around. Under the serious-minded custody of returning director Bryan Singer, the second film of this Marvel comics franchise ups the ante on Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart) and the superhero mutants from the first film, pitting them against a mutant-hating scientist (Brian Cox) who's determined to wipe out the mutant race by tricking Xavier into abusing his telepathic powers. More a series of spectacles than a truly satisfying thriller, X2 introduces new mutant allies while giving each of the X-Men alumni--notably the temporarily helpful Magneto (Ian McKellen)--their own time in the spotlight. Well aware of the parallels between "mutantism" and virulent intolerance in the real world, Singer lends real gravity to the proceedings, injecting dramatic urgency into a continuing franchise that, in lesser hands, might've grown patently absurd. --Jeff Shannon

    X2 - X-Men United (Widescreen Edition) Reviews:
Good sequels to movie action 4 Star Review
2009-11-25 - I am a long time Marvel and X-Men fan. I have not been impressed by the comic to movie conversion of these characters. I like the movies as stand alone adventures. I do not think the represent the series well, but they are fun to watch. In all fairness, I have rarely been impressed by comic to movie, or book to movie, conversions.

    X2: X-Men United 5 Star Review
2009-11-24 - I have been a fan of the X-Men ever since I first started the X-Men cartoon series back in the 1990s. This movie, as its name implies, is a sequel to the first X-Men movie. In this movie, the X-Men have to rescue their leader, Professor Xavier, played by Patrick Stewart, from evil government forces. Along the way, Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, discovers clues that could lead him to his lost memories. The action scenes kept me engrossed in the movie and I found the plot very interesting. I recommend this DVD to any X-Men fan.

Excellent condition - Like new! 5 Star Review
2009-09-14 - I was amazed how fast this DVD arrived. I was also in shock at what perfect condition it was in. There were no markings or scratches at all! Thank You!

Easily the best of the franchise 5 Star Review
2009-08-07 - X2 is not only the best out of the current four films in the film franchise, it is probably my favorite Marvel comic book movie of all time! (Spider-Man 2 was just as good). Everything is better this time around. The action is a huge improvement from the first film, and the story will keep you on the edge of your seat. I also liked the direction this movie went in. The first film dealt with the X-Men facing off against Magneto's brotherhood of evil mutants. The first movie was strictly mutant VS mutant. X2 involves the humans taking the fight to the mutants. It was amazing to see how the X-Men fight for what they believe is right, even if the ones they hope to protect are the ones that hate them. The X-Men go great lengths this movie, and there are casualties on both sides.
With a movie that sticks to the comic book even more this time around, hardcore fans should be pleased. Characters are fleshed out even further, particulaly Wolverine, Jean Grey, the newer mutants, and the newly introduced Nightcrawler. Its rare to find a superhero movie that not only has a good story, but a touching one as well. X2 fits this criteria and more. Job well done!

More Good Eye Candy 4 Star Review
2009-06-30 - Since the first movie, "X-Men," was famous for its great special effects, this sequel knew enough to deliver the same kind of eye-popping effects to please its fans....and it did! There are absolutely tons of stunning special effects, both visually and audibly. All of that means very few lulls in this 134-minute film.

Having said that, I do think the film actually needed some lulls. At over two hours of pretty intense action, it needed more breaks. Either that, or shorten the story.

Rebecca Romjin-Stamos, in her skin-tight outfit, is still a feast for us male eyes and Halle Berry and Famke Jannson aren't bad, either! Other familiar names from the first film are still here, such as Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman, Anna Pacquin and Ian McKellan.

It's a pretty interesting story and - all-in all, if you liked the first film, you'll like this, (and you'll love the third installment!).
