    Description of Four Christmases [Blu-ray]:
When your significant other tells you you both need an exit "safe word" before you enter his dad's Christmas gathering, you know you're not in Bedford Falls. But while Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon may not be It's a Wonderful Life's George and Mary Bailey, Four Christmases is a modern holiday classic in its own right. For one thing, every family neurosis and dysfunction have taken root in the four families of Vaughn and Witherspoon's characters, Brad and Kate--and the sleek yuppie façade each has built with the other is about to come tumbling down. There are real belly laughs as the couple unexpectedly has to spend holidays with their four extended family groups. "I don't want to speak ill of your mother on Christmas," growls Howard (Robert Duvall) to son Brad, while Brad's bullnecked ultimate-fighter brothers are rassling everything in sight, "but she's nothing but a common street whore." Brad may cringe, but Kate's own family is about to mortify her in abundant ways, from her randy "Gram-Gram" and about-to-pounce cougar mom Mary Steenburgen ("I feel like a Saudi prince in here," marvels Brad as all of Kate's female relatives drape themselves over him), to the revelation to Brad that Kate used to be--how to put this--a bit on the chubby side. If the plot isn't full of surprises, the quips are nonstop and the acting believable and charming. The supporting cast also includes Sissy Spacek, Jon Voight, Jon Favreau and Dwight Yoakam in a memorable turn as the mega-church pastor Steenburgen's character is involved with. It's a comic Christmas blessing, and there'll be no need to say "mistletoe"--at least not till the viewers are home with their own families. --A.T. Hurley

    Four Christmases [Blu-ray] Reviews:
    Christmas Movie 1 Star Review
2009-12-01 - I was so disappointed in this movie. It was very predictable and parts were plain old annoying. I would not recommend this at all. I love Reese Witherspoon, but she should have thought twice before doing this movie. I bought it is blu ray too because I assumed it would be good. I was wrong.

A Sad Disappointment.... 1 Star Review
2009-11-30 - Well i picked up Four Christmases and was excited to see Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn together in a movie. I exspected to see a funny family comedy. Dont get me wrong, i already was prepared for some things my children shouldnt watch but people said it was a "Great Family movie". Well they were wrong. In the first 3 minutes there are VERY sexual references, about 3 or 4 cuss words, and Reese and Vince went into the bathroom and it shows them kissing and her wrapping her legs around him and suggests some very innapropriate behavior. Also there are very innapropriate things like a six or seven year old boy streaking, a woman talking about the "pains of breast feeding", and a thirty or so man having an affair with like a 60 year old woman, who often talk about what they do in bed.Trust me there are more than that but you get the picture. My kids were horrified at this movie. If were you i would steer clear of this bad apple.

Wrong Chemistry Between Witherspoon and Vaughn 2 Star Review
2009-11-30 - made this film feel like you were waiting for it to end. I thought this film might have the feel of Surviving Christmas, but sadly not.

RE the included code for getting a digital copy- I could not get the download to work.

    Blah 1 Star Review
2009-11-30 - Wanted to like this movie because I think Vince Vaughn is great and Reese is a beautiful actress....but I was glad when it was over.

Christmas should be for children 0r the children in us all 2 Star Review
2009-11-30 - I love Reese Witherspoon and have found Vince Vaughn funny in other movies. This is not one of them. My husband made the comment, in watching this movie, that Christmas movies should be suitable for families. Considering that he is the least likely of us to like the season, it was quite an amazing comment.

This movie is awful. It lacks substance, acting, a believeable plot...well, ok, practically any plot. Why these two people whould ever get together in the first place makes no sense, because there is no chemistry between the two main characters, and that's BEFORE we meet these horrendous families. You have to like something about people to find something in ourselves that we can attach ourselves to. If you find something in these people to attach yourself to, please don't tell anyone else. There is nothing in these familes you'd ever like....and the only thing about Christmas is the title....and by the way, if they visited those families for as long as they did, they'd have to stay at least 36 hours.

Disjointed... fabricated...poor acting...just awful. This holiday season...skip it!
