When Susan Murphy (Reese Witherspoon) is unexpectedly clobbered by a meteor full of outer space gunk, she mysteriously grows to 49-feet-11-inches tall and is instantly labeled a “Monster” named Ginormica. The military jumps into action, and she is captured by General W.R. Monger (Kiefer Sutherland) and held in a secret government compound filled with other “monsters” like herself. This ragtag group consists of the brilliant but insect-headed Dr. Cockroach P.H.D. (Hugh Laurie); the macho half-ape-half-fish The Missing Link (Will Arnett); the gelatinous and indestructible B.O.B. (Seth Rogen); and the 350-foot grub called Insectosaurus. Their confinement time is cut short however, when a mysterious alien robot lands on Earth and the motley crew of Monsters is called into action to save the world from imminent destruction.

Monsters vs. Aliens [Blu-ray] Reviews: A great movie 2009-11-30 - Monsters vs Aliens is a great movie if you are looking to be entertained. The story focuses around Ginormica, the meteor irradiated woman who is supposed to be 50 ft. tall, but sometimes in the movie seems like 100 ft. The character of B.O.B. is hilarious! The other characters don't get as much play, but are good in their own right. This is a kid friendly movie, IMHO, but it is geared toward adults. The graphics inside the spaceship are something else. Buy it, you'll like it. I watched it four times in the first three weeks I owned it.
Great Movie 2009-11-18 - Fantastic movie for the whole family. Colorful and realistic, very human like, you don't feel you are watching a cartoon movie.
Not just for kids 2009-11-16 - This has so many things that are not just for kids - it is a great movie and you get more things out of it every time you watch.
Good movie but... 2009-11-16 - This movie had great picture quality on blu-ray; however, we had to try on several occasions to watch the entirety due to it freezing in our PS3. Not sure whether it was the movie or our PS3 but once when we checked, the disk had greasy fingerprints on it from the factory. We're sure they were not ours as we are always precautious about how we handle disks. I would think the factory would be more careful than have their employees handle these disks as they're being packaged.
So, if you buy this movie and have problems playing it on your blu-ray player, try cleaning it. Also, make sure your PS3 in a well ventilated area, sits horizontal and has the latest firmware installed.
Saw in the Theater, Had to get it for the home 2009-11-15 - My boys (including my husband) and I loved this movie. I knew when we were leaving the theater I'd be buying the movie. The characters are great. BOB is hilarious, which is expected from Seth Rogan. Reese Witherspoon does very well in this movie, which is great because I normally don't care for her. The only complaint I have about this, which I didn't realize until I actually received the Blu Ray, is that it's only Blu Ray. Most Disney DVDs come in a DVD/Blu Ray combo and I strongly feel that, if nothing else, other companies that make kids movies should offer their movies in DVD/Blu-Ray combos. My kids can only watch this in the living room on our PS3. We had to buy the actual DVD to accommodate being able to watch this in other rooms. Good job for Disney for recognizing this and making those combos. Had it been a combo disc, it would have gotten 5 stars without question.
