Editorial Review:
Puerto Rican superstar Ricky Martin's self-titled first English-language album is a triumph of an omnivorous world-pop sensibility--but more important is that at its best, it's a real kick. The first single, "Livin' la Vida Loca," employs a revved-up ska tempo to praise a girl whose "lips are devil red [and] skin's the color of mocha." Martin is no less irresistible on the disc's other uptempo numbers, such as "Spanish Eyes," "The Cup of Life" (the 1998 World Cup theme which with he stole the Grammy telecast a few months before this CD's release), and the Soul Coughing-indebted "Shake Your Bon Bon." Ricky Martin loses momentum with its draggier ballads--even the much-touted Madonna duet, "Be Careful (Cuidade con Mi Corazon)," doesn't spark--but overall, it deserves its inevitable multiplatinum success. --Rickey Wright
Ricky Martin Reviews:
used Ricky Martin
2009-11-14 - Product arrived quikly and in perfect shape, had lost the album in a move and love the replacement
Customer Satisfaction
2009-07-15 - The Ricky Martin CD was shipped in New condition as advertised. The standard shipping of 5 business days was acceptable. It was estimated to be received on Tuesday June 16 and was received on Monday June 15.
However, upon receiving the item, I checked the balance of the card used to make the payment and an extra charge was added. A "Batch fee" of $2.50 was added with the shipping and handling, however the receipt did not show it.
This is my first time shopping online and I carefully read all of the costs of the item I purchased. The cost of the item + shipping and handling but no "batch fee". No other hidden costs. If this is how Amazon does business, then I will take my online shopping elsewhere.
The item I purchased is good but hidden fees are bad.
Ricky Martin CD
2009-01-18 - Ricky Martin Cd, this is an older CD that Ricky Martin made. It is great one of his best ones. I love his music and his salsa style songs as well as his ballads.

It's Not Bad
2008-07-09 - When this was released back in 1999, I was unaware Ricky Martin would ever make it to the main stream of pop music. When I heard "Livin La Vida Loca" on the radio, I was wrong. Ricky Martin had fully crossed over. I remember purchasing this album on cd and on vinyl. The ballad "She's All I Ever Had" is the best track on the album. It was a major hit for Martin and it was the follow up single to "Livin La Vida Loca". Another highlight to the album is "The Cup Of Life", I remember him performing this at the awards show and his performance was outstanding. The final single from the album "Shake Your Bon Bon", is an "ok" song, it will get you dancing but the lyrcis do not make any sense. But if you want to know what Ricky Martin was all about in the pop market, pick up this album. The track "She's All I Ever Had" is worth the purchase alone!
If you want it buy it here.
