The terrifying legend of Trevor Moorehouse, a masked figure who wields a chainsaw instead of a left hand, is behind this frightening game of Hide and Seek played on the first night of camp every year. But this year, and underlying sense of terror is lurking in the minds of the campers and counselors. And thrills by a campfire soon turn into the counselors' worst nightmares as they begin to disappear, one by one, blood-curdling screams and the roar of a chainsaw are the only sounds in the isolated woods and the remaining counselors must scramble to solve the mystery before becoming the killer's next victim.

Not bad for 1983. What?! It was made in 2000? Are we sure? 
2009-06-25 - It's rare to see a film from just 9 years ago that looks like its intended format was betamax. But that's what we have here. Sid loves this feature as it adds to the B that's why we bumped this one up a star. We selected the flick because it was obviously an awful ripoff of the Friday the 13th series. Quick tangent: We have yet to see the remake of F13 and are viewing it today. The review will be forthcoming.
As we already know, the killer is a Jason ripoff but with two major differences: One, his weapon of choice is a chainsaw hand. Yeah you read that right. Two, besides his mutant hand, he is not the least bit physically imposing. Sid in all his 3'9 purple ya know glory could take this guy. Like F13, the targets are kids at a camp. These kids are the worst actors, not to mention the lamest, whimpiest geeks. The Jason ripoff is summoned by a campfire game called...you guessed it "Bloody Murder." Once the killings start the question is obviously whodunit? Was it Bobby "The Brain" Heenan's brother? Maybe you can tell us because we couldn't make it all the way through this one. It was that terrible.
Clearly this IS NOT a flick we would have enjoyed in the glory days. And let's let a short Drive-In Totals illustrate why:

2008-11-18 - There is no was to describe how bad this movie is.story wise sucked,there was no bllod or gore,killings took place off screen.no backstory,boring,a chainsaw that makes noise but the blade dosent move...stay far away and save the hour and a half of your life cause youll never get it back.

2008-10-31 - You people giving this 2 or more stars must be on something, and whatever it is, I don't want any. This movie was atrocious. The only reason I watched it was because there was nothing else on TV, and I just wanted to see how bad it really was. EVERYTHING about this movie was dismal. Oh, and there's a sequel? That tells me that enough people supported this movie. Ugh. That's all I have to say about this piece of garbage. Waste... Of... Time...

2007-11-19 - Bloody Murder is such a great rip-off of the Friday The 13th movies! I loved every single moment of this amazingly awesome film!
I loved the concept. I loved the thought that there is someone watching you in the woods at summer camp. Oooh!!! Eeerie!! HA!!!!!!
The deaths were so incredibly cheesy (except for in the kitchen, that was kinda cool, with the blood and crackers and the reflection of "Jason" in the blood), but I thought that they were so original and so well pieced together despite the fact that this movie cost less than one-hundred dollars to make.
The actors were so incredible, and I loved every one of them! I thought that the script was really funny and amusing, but it pulled you in!
There were failed attempts at scary pop-ups that didn't scare me, but I laughed so hard at some stuff. Like when the girl is running through the woods from Trevor.
I enjoyed this movie beyong words! It is such an incredible movie, and if anybody expects to see a great horror movie is mistaken, but without a doubt you will have a hell of a good time with this movie!

2007-08-28 - "Bloody Murder" is a bloody awful attempt at a slasher flick. This is a generic and formulaic attempt at an artificial slasher flick if I've ever seen one. This cliche-ridden mess is an absolute disaster. In this garbage, you have your typical "whodunnit" type mystery that is supposed to keep you guessing. The problem is that the movie is so bad, it just keeps you wanting to turn it off and go to sleep and that's putting it nicely, and by the time you figure out who the murderer is, you may not care by the point...at least, that's what my reaction was.
The acting is horrendous and the screenplay is just awful. The result is a very artificial or generic slasher movie that looks like it was made by a couple of amateur high school filmmakers. "Bloody Murder" is indicative of very poor execution, and the result is a very uncompelling and lame attempt at a slasher movie that just fails to get off the ground. "Bloody Murder" might make you laugh unintentionally, cry if you wasted your money, make you disgusted by such awful film-making or it might actually put you to sleep, but it will not scare you. My advice: advoid this like the plague. If it's free like it was for me on fearnet, you could check it out just to see how bad it is, but I wouldn't even recommend wasting your time on that. "Bloody Murder" is a very sad and pathetic attempt to make a slasher movie.
