Editorial Review:
The wait is ova - for one of the most hotly anticipated new albums in recent history, as multi-platinum, award-winning Def Jam recording artist Rihanna announces the completion of her fourth original studio album, Rated R, scheduled to arrive in the physical and digital marketplace on Monday, November 23rd.The "Russian Roulette" video, directed by Anthony Mandler, will premiere in prime-time on ABC.

"Russian Roulette" was written and produced by fellow Def Jam artist Ne-Yo, whose long track record with Rihanna includes the #1 hit "Unfaithful" (2006, from A Girl Like Me), their Top 10 duet "Hate That I Love You" (2007, from Good Girl Gone Bad), and #1 pop/ #1 R&B "Take A Bow" (2008, from Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded). In addition to Ne-Yo, other producers and writers on Rihanna's new album include the team of The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, Chase & Status, Stargate, Justin Timberlake and more.

Rated R is the long-awaited follow-up to Good Girl Gone Bad (May 2007), which contained the non-stop string of hit singles that began with the MTV VMA and Grammy Award-winning global #1 hit "Umbrella" (featuring Jay-Z), then "Shut Up and Drive," "Hate That I Love You" (featurĀing Ne-Yo), and "Don't Stop the Music." Good Girl Gone Bad spent 98 total weeks on the Soundscan chart, earned cumulative sales of more than 36-times platinum in at least 20 territories around the world, and spun off the CD+DVD package Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded (January 2009) - which continued the string of hits with the #1 "Take A Bow," and the #1 "Disturbia."

Good Girl Gone Bad was the third album release in less than two years by the 21-year old Barbados native Rihanna. It followed-up 2006's RIAA platinum A Girl Like Me, which contained the back-to-back hits, "S.O.S." and "Unfaithful"; and her RIAA gold debut from 2005, Music Of the Sun, featuring the world-wide smash, "Pon De Replay."

Rated R Reviews:
Different Side of Rihanna! 5 Star Review
2009-12-17 - Rihanna is back and once again, she does not disappoint. This time she is showing her edgier and darker side. Any Rihanna fan will love this album. So many catchy songs!

Rated R means for mature audiences only... 5 Star Review
2009-12-10 - First let me say, I have NEVER posted a review but felt compelled to do so. I must say that I agree to disagree most times but people who are saying this CD is lackluster couldn't be more wrong. Meesh "magentamindship", you in particular I disagree with the most. People need to understand that domestic abuse does not define Rihanna nor was it the sole basis for this CD. Most of the songs weren't even written by her. So, the fact that people believe this CD has to do with her being battered is just incomprehensible for me. This woman is from Barbados and anyone who knows any West Indian or Caribbean women already know that they have a certain fire about them. This CD certainly captures that fire in Rihanna.

Now on to my review....first let me say I am a huge fan of Rihanna's last 2 CDs. I particularly loved the gritty edge on Good Girl Gone Bad. Rihanna just turned 21 years old and I believe this was her coming out CD--where she wanted to address some hot topics and she does so in the most METAPHORICALLY TERRIFIC way! She touches on lost love, taking back her feminine power, turning down lesbian advances and a whole lot more. This CD tells stories like none other!

No dance grooves?? Says who? Almost every song on the CD has a nice groove tempo, particulary Rude Boy which is one of my favs. No ballads?? Cold Case Love, Russian Roulette, The Last Song and Stupid in Love satisfy this need for me in a major way. These songs tell a story, no not necessarily a mushy love story but HER STORY or at least what she portrays...and for me it's very believable. Cold Case Love, in my opinion, is one of the hottest tracks on the CD! Listen to the CD...I mean REALLY LISTEN and hear her words and her passion and I know you will appreciate it for the great piece of work it is.

Other great tracks: Rockstar 101, Photographs, Te Amo

Her most Diverse Album to Date! 4 Star Review
2009-12-10 - I have seen a lot of artists come and go over the years, and Rihanna is the REAL DEAL.

She has her own style.

Either you like her or you don't.

Rated R is her most diverse Album to date.

Aside from a few POP bridges thrown in for the MASSES. If you listen carefully you can see the a TRUE artist on the RISE!
I look forward to watching her her grown over the next 20 yrs.

At one time some said she would be a one HIT wonder. With the release of Rated R. All the critics ARE PROVEN wrong ONCE AGAIN.

Save your money!!!!! 1 Star Review
2009-12-08 - This cd sucks...Pass on this one because you'll be left disappointed it's hyped to be more than it really is because of the Chris Brown situation. Don't buy into it, because you are going to wish you hadn't. I am =(

Off the Charts!!!! 4 Star Review
2009-12-06 - The "Mad House" Intro is the best intro I have ever heard!!! In fact, it should have been two minutes longer. The beat is great, and the melody is awesome. Good intro into the contents of the album. I wish I could give this album 4.5 stars, only because the "Te Amo" song threw me for a loop, and did not match quite well with the contents of this album. This album is the bad girl in all of us that is raging deep inside. Men don't shy away from this album, because the songs are not girly at all. The best album from Rihanna yet. Keep rockin' it!!
