Falling in Love [Region 2] Reviews: Fallin In Love Robert De Niro Meryl Streep 2009-10-21 - Falling In Love with Robert De Niro, and Meryl Streep did not do well at the box office. I will never understand why. This is everything The Way We Were was not, believable! In a very different role, Robert De Niro is excellent as the leading man and Meryl Streep, as usual, gives a stellar performance. If you wish to see a honest, believable love story this will be one of your favorites.
A wrong choice 2009-07-05 - I personally love Meryl Streep and find her the best actress alive but this movie, in my opinion, fell flat and was far from my high expectations. I do not think that it was really the acting that was what made this movie in my opinion boring it was that this plot has been done to death from any and every angle a man and a woman fall in love but both are already married or one is married or one is married and gets caught. Sound familiar? So I say if you want a good Meryl Streep romance watch Out of Africa or The Bridges of Madison County.
Falliing in Love 2009-06-20 - A movie that will make you think what love will really make you do. Add a little serandipity to it and you're hooked.
A Real Thinker!!! 2009-06-07 - This movie makes you think about what you would do in a given situation. It has moving moments and is a sweet moving piture. Enjoy!!
The Acting Is Flawless 2009-04-22 - It is true, as one reviewer cites, that this movie glorifies infidelity; however, I'm reviewing this film from an acting stand point. It is, in a word, flawless. The portrayals given by DeNiro and Streep are so natural, without a hint of Actor' Studio tainting, that one is drawn into the lives of these two uncomplicated, yet driven, individuals. I'm sure many of us have been confronted with similar temptations but have resisted due to upbringing and cultural mores that condemn such behavior. This is at the heart of this film vignette. The struggle to do the right thing, so as not to hurt others, and the impulse to engage in that which is contrary to our marital values and ideals.
This film should, at the very least, be evaluated on the terrific nuance performances of two of the greatest actors in American film history. If for nothing else, it should be viewed and studied on that bases.
