Editorial Review:
Maverick tells the story of Brett and Bart Maverick. These "fancy pants" gamblers roam from town to town during the era of the great old west looking for a good game; inevitably, making enemies when they won and extricating themselves from rough situations when they lost.
Maverick (Television Favorites) Reviews:
Maverickite backgrounder
2009-12-04 - Just thought I'd share a little further series info. Maverick was originally created as a starring vehicle for James Garner. The quality in the writing and performances is self-evident, but the negative consequences with 50's production methods were that the show quickly fell behind schedule while shooting the first episodes. It was for that reason that Jack Kelly was brought in, so two units could work simultaneously. Though Garner and Kelly reportedly got along famously, it was one of the sources of resentment for Garner that led him to jump ship in 1960 during a writers strike.
Worst video set ever.
2009-04-08 - This is the worst quality DVD set I have ever seen.
Cheap packaging, very poor quality audio and video.
Many episodes are literally unwatchable.
Seriously, unbelievably, BAD.
Total rip-off.
DO NOT BUY.
A great trip back..........
2009-02-17 - This video reminded me why Maverick was such a fun series. I wondered if the screenwriter for "The Sting" was influenced by the first episode. The quality of the restoration was great. It was not like many of the old series that are hard to watch because of sound and visual clarity. My only problem now is that I want more episodes!!!
Good memories
2008-12-30 - I bought this movie for a gift, but I watched it before to be sure that it was what my dad wanted, It brought so many memories.
Maverick
2008-11-20 - This DVD was fine. I would like to have all of the complete seasons.
