Editorial Review:
Japanese pressing of the famed vocalist's 2008 featuring one bonus track: 'Forbidden Colours'. Symphony is Sarah Brightman's first studio album for five years. Recorded in Germany, Symphony features all new songs and is created with Sarah's long-time producer Frank Peterson. The repertoire ranges from beautiful ballads 'Symphony', 'Fleur du Mal' and epic power rock scores 'I Will Be With You' to interpretations of the work 'Jupiter' from Holst's The Planets on 'Running' to Faith Hill's 'There You'll Be' sung in Italian as 'Sarai Qui' and many more. On this album Sarah reunites with Andrea Bocelli to sing 'Canto Della Terra', as well as singing duets with Fernando Lima (Mexican tenor) on 'Passion' and Paul Stanley (Kiss) on 'I Will Be With You (Where The Lost Ones Go) '. The album showcases Sarah linguistic vocal skills by singing in Spanish, Italian, French and for the first time German. EMI.

Symphony Reviews:
Up and Running 5 Star Review
2009-10-05 - When I bought Sarah Brightman's Symphony DVD, it came with a sticker saying she had become the world's best-selling soprano of all-time. Then I watched it and thought: She's still in her forties and still improving. How much better can the best get?

Try this: Close your eyes while playing Brightman's Symphony DVD so you won't be distracted by the beautiful lighting in the gorgeous cathedral in Vienna. Just listen to the audio. Then listen to Leontyne Price, Cecilia Bartoli, Maria Callas, Kiri Te Kanawa, anybody, and decide for yourself. Is Sarah Brightman great, or what?

The title song, SYMPHONY, and ATTESA are beyond beautiful. Brightman, the pioneer of popularized classics and classicized pop, has done it again, adding her own lyrics to five of the fifteen songs. Like NELLA FANTASIA, a Brightman-introduced vocal, here's new material for Il Divo, Andrea Bocelli, and Paul Potts.

But, more than anything, this concert is about duets: Two inspiring classical duets with Alessandro Safina (CANTO DELLA TERRA and SARAI QUI), two rock-style duets with Chris Thompson (I WILL BE WITH YOU and THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA) and a moving Spanish rhythm piece with Fernando Lima (PASION).

The song that got the best audience response was RUNNING. Originally done at an athletic event in Japan, RUNNING is the latest Brightman song to be introduced in athletic settings. In 1992, at the Barcelona Olympics, Brightman ran down the concrete stadium steps in spike heels to sing AMIGOS PARA SIEMPRE with Jose Carreras. In 1995 and 1996 came A QUESTION OF HONOUR and TIME TO SAY GOODBYE (with Bocelli), both sung at boxing matches in Germany. Brightman's version of NESSUN DORMA was chosen to launch the televised 2002 Major League Baseball playoffs. And who can forget her contribution to the magnificent opening of the Beijing Olympics?

Sarah Brightman is still up and RUNNING.

Symphony 5 Star Review
2009-08-25 - Sarah Brightman is brilliant and the music is beyond explanation....you just have to feel it to experience it.

Sarah Brightman continues to disappoint 2 Star Review
2009-06-26 - Sarah Brightman has one of the best voices in the world. Unfortunately she chooses to sing songs that do not showcase her voice. Her earlier albums certainly proved her ability to sing like few others. Her voice was strong, clear, and beautiful, unlike few other sopranos in the world. I have everyone of her albums, and the past several including this one are nothing but airy, light pop songs that seem to reflect her idea that she is a fairy goddess in a make believe land. I may not buy anymore of her albums.

Stupdendous! 5 Star Review
2009-05-18 - This is a fabulous release of solos and duets that will grow on you the more you listen to it. I'm transported by this voice and I would rank Sarah Brightman as my most favorite female vocalist! Her range is phenomenal and she shines with all the wonderful male voices when she's singing the duets.
I listen to this over and over and can't get enough.
Buy this!! If you're not yet a fan, you will be.

excellent as always 5 Star Review
2009-03-19 - I can't wait for the DVD of this title. The Cathedral is so beautiful and romantic and Brightman is so lovely.
