Description of Sarah Brightman - Harem Desert Fantasy:
Theater star Sarah Brightman turns up the heat in this sexy, baroque DVD counterpart to her 2003 world music CD, Harem. Brightman's artistic purpose on that album--marrying the rhythms of the Middle East to her otherwordly pop sound (as opposed to her boomy, operatic sound)--aren't lost here, but don't expect to catch a glimpse of such exciting studio collaborators as violin star Nigel Kennedy amidst countless shots of the diva in various states of undress. The lavish visual production sets several songs in exotic recreations of fabled harems, where lust is tempered by decorum but sex is clearly on the menu. For a change, Brightman's ethereal version of "Stranger in Paradise" (from Kismet) is shot against a starkly beautiful, mountainous backdrop, and "What You Never Know," a song about the passage of time, includes touching images of children and old people. --Tom Keogh
Sarah Brightman - Harem Desert Fantasy Reviews:
Wonderful Brightman
2009-10-18 - Tis is another of Sarah Brightman's wonderful dvd. She is wonderful to listen to and to watch.

Sarah loves the desert!
2009-01-30 - Ms. Brightman successfully accomplished her goal of creating a DVD that exudes sensuality in every song! This DVD is clearly meant for the males of her audience as she visually displays her female attributes wonderfully as her voice has always revealed auditorialy. It is obvious that a lot of work went into making this DVD, and it was worth it. If anything other than her voice stood out in just about every scene, it is her eyes! She will captivate you with those alluring eyes of hers - not to mention her absolutely beautiful body!
Somebody make her stop dancing, please!!!!
2008-09-19 - I fell in love with Sarah Brightman's voice even before she sang in the Phantom of the Opera. Each new album by Sarah had a special place in my heart tied to a particular time in my life.
Now, that I'm enhancing my music/movies collection, I thought why not spoil my self and buy all Sarah's DVD? I ordered all Sarah's concert DVDs including her Harem DVD; what a shock my heart endured...!!!! Being a great singer doesn't imply that you are a great dancer or a fabulous speaker. Simply put, no body can have it all, and dear Sarah needs to understand that.
In Harem, Sarah admittedly looks great. Apparently she thinks that she's a Goddess and wants every body else to believe that and focus on her looks and not her music, her vanity has tarnished the glow of her voice and music.
Belly dancing is an art, best left to professionals, not amateurs. Sarah insisted on showing too much skin and moving her arms annoyingly throughout the DVD, which greatly detracted from the great words and the enchanting music. What happened to just looking good and slightly swinging gracefully while performing? Did Britney Spears and other" shaking it kids" mantra actually invade good music and sane people too? Does Ms. Brightman truly believe that her recently acquired belly is a greater asset than her voice and music making ability? She might, but please not the constant arm movements.
I'll happily go back to playing Sarah's music and skip watching her DVDs. Compared to Sarah, the Il Divo boys look modest and well grounded.
God bless any singer who is realistic enough to know that he/she is not all that and stick to what they are good at.
Perfect in every way
2008-07-09 - I recommend this to all fans of Sarah's fans. The DVD is beautiful. Gorgeous videos. Sarah is amazing. She has an incredible voice. She is beautiful. And she has a real class about her that makes her look SEXY, not sleezy, even though some of her outfits are a bit skimpy. She is an amazing women and such a refreshing change from the naked teenage bimbos that populate music today. As far as the songs go, "Free" is a melodic lovely song that she sings with such emotion. If you are looking for something more upbeat, "It's a beautiful day" is like a modern pop/rock vocal. "Mysterious days" has a Middle Eastern rhythym to it. So there is a little something for everyone. If you want to give your favorite Sarah Brightman fan a nice gift, combine this DVD with the Harem CD.
Sarah Brightman - Harem Dersert Fantasy
2008-02-07 - The DVD would be breathtaking if:
for God's sake, why the video picture is not sharp? Why most of the video picture is kind of blurry? It's a pitty! It spoils all beauty of this DVD.
With todays technology even average quality of picture should be much better.
Next time I am buying CD.
