  • Editorial Review:
Perhaps more than any other time in its remarkable history, this is the season in which ROSEANNE pushed the sitcom envelope like never before. It was the unforgettable year that began with Roseanne’s unexpected pregnancy and went on to tackle such issues as abortion, alcoholism, drug abuse, sexual dysfunction and racial prejudice. There’s also erotic dreams, nude neighbors, scandalous secrets, both Beckys, a gay Halloween, a turkey of a Thanksgiving, the Sitcom Moms’ Welcome Wagon, and the Conner’s all-time classic visit to Gilligan’s Island. Relive all 25 uncut episodes from this landmark season that was nominated for four Emmy Awards® and featured such guest stars as Sharon Stone, Ellen DeGeneres, Shelley Winters, Estelle Parsons, Danny Masterson, Traci Lords, Joseph Gordon- Levitt, Martin Mull, Sandra Bernhard, Michael O’Keefe and many more.

Description of Roseanne: The Complete Seventh Season:
Roseanne is that rare sitcom that not only maintains its quality over multiple seasons, but actually gets emotionally richer as it does so. Despite all the offscreen chaos--the divorces, the much-publicized fights among the writing staff, the plastic surgery--Roseanne (the actress) drove her show forward with a clear vision and commitment to the show's characters, with excellent results. The big arc for the season is Roseanne Connor's pregnancy (which coincided with Roseanne's own), but two other subplots provide memorable episodes: The troubled marriage of Roseanne's sister Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) and Fred (Michael O'Keefe) and the equally troubled relationship between Roseanne's daughter Darlene (Sara Gilbert) and her boyfriend David (Johnny Galecki), who's moved into the Connor house and becomes a sort of adopted son.

As ever, the show superbly balances serious issues (drug use, infidelity, abortion, racism) and more obviously comic material (nudist neighbors, inappropriate erotic dreams, and absurd turns with classic sitcom moms and a daffy homage to Gilligan's Island). The key is that Roseanne never offers an easy solution. Roseanne is adamant about a woman's right to choose, but has a meltdown at the possibility that she might have to make such a choice herself; Roseanne tries to keep Darlene and David together, but that may not be the best option for either of them. This moral and emotional complexity--combined with smart writing and top-notch performances--made Roseanne one of the all-time top sitcoms. Featuring guest appearances by Sharon Stone, Ellen DeGeneres, Traci Lords, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Danny Masterson, as well as recurring appearances by Martin Mull, Sandra Bernhard, Estelle Parsons, and Shelley Winters. And of course, John Goodman, as Roseanne's husband Dan, continues to be as essential to the show's success as Roseanne herself. --Bret Fetzer

Roseanne: The Complete Seventh Season Reviews:
    Its great 5 Star Review
2009-11-04 - I enjoyed watching this season. The best thing is no commercials. I think it has some interesting shows that most blue collar people can relate to. I think some of the contraversial issues helps us realize the differences between all people and how we can make those differences into friendship building tools. I just like how she is. Sometimes she reminds me of me.

I also enjoyed the commentary on certain episodes. It gave me some insight to how the people were off camara as well as on camara.

Roseanne: The Complete Seventh Season 5 Star Review
2009-10-04 - Great series on DVD at a great price and arrived on time in great shape. Would do business with this seller again.

The best comedy ever 5 Star Review
2009-06-23 - I love this show. It's one of the best comedies out there. I now own every season and wouldn't trade them for anything.

Earlier seasons were better then this! 3 Star Review
2009-06-22 - I think by this time in the show that roseanne has lost her touch. The earlier season were by far much funnier. But if you are a huge fan like I am then you almost have to own all the seasons regardless.

    great show 3 Star Review
2009-04-27 - This is a great show...Season 7 was no my favorite season, but I just love Roseanne.
