Road To Avonlea - The Complete Third Volume Reviews:
    Charming. 5 Star Review
    2006-08-19 -
Charming children and adults get into fun predicaments. If you liked "Little House on the Prairie" or "Anne of Green Gables"; you should like this. Seasons 1-6 are excellent.

Beautiful scenery, farm, horses, period costumes, with women in pretty dresses, period sets, realistic characters, likeable characters, lively pace, and inviting activities, take you to a nicer place.

This season has some exceptional episodes:
~ An athletic, dashing, well dressed, handsome, mysterious, man arrives in the dark of night, on horseback, in earnest pursuit of of another stranger, a pretty, well-dressed, young lady, who has something he wants very badly, in a melodrama, mystery episode, "A Dark and Stormy Night" (writer: Hart Hanson).
~Sarah and Felicity babysit their little nephew, who is a little terror; in "Friends & Relations" (writer: Heather Conkie). Usually an episode is able to focus on just a few of the characters with depth; but this unique episode, has many of the characters interacting, in depth, at a lively pace. I wonder if involving so many of the characters was planned or just happened with the plot.
~"Vows of Silence" (writer: Hart Hanson) has a scene that is very funny, and another quietly funny, charming scene, when the new preacher comes to town.
~"High Society" (writer: Janet Maclean) introduces the interesting character, Chef Pierre La Pierre. Felicity takes on airs and tells some whoppers while visiting high society, Kingsport Ladies College.

Mr. Sullivan spared no expense to create warm and humorous escapades. A wonderful series.

This series has been my best money value; dividing the 13-episodes by the cost: $51รท13 episodes = $3.92 per 46-minute episode. Sells new in Canada for $80.

2006-07-06 - Plenty of laughs and sad moments too. Finally some developments with Gus and Felicity too which is making for fascinating viewing.
Highlights are Ties that Bind, Felix and Blackie, Another Point of View,When she was Bad...,High Society and Old friends...

Delightful family-friendly TV series, my favorite!! 5 Star Review
2005-11-18 - This great family-friendly series brings back great memories from my childhood; I would definitely consider this my favorite TV show of all time! Each episode is full of sweet moments, family life, exciting adventures, beautiful scenery, and much more. The content of these is minimal: it's a very family-friendly series, with only a few episodes with some objectionable content (like the Witches of Avonlea episode in Season 1).

The storyline centers around Sarah Stanley, who comes to Prince Edward Island when her father is accused of embezzlement to live with relatives in a little town called Avonlea. As she struggles to accept her new life and get along with her strict Aunt Hettie, her stuck-up cousin Felcity King, & tormenting cousin Felix King, Sarah must accept the changes in her young life. But not everything is bad: small town life can be loads of fun, and her new Aunt Olivia is wondeful!

Check out this amazing series produced by Sullivan in Canada, the same company who brought up "Anne of Green Gables" and "Anne of Avonlea" in the 90's with Megan Follows. Aired in the U.S. under the title "Avonlea" on the Disney Channel, you will enjoy watching these fantastic episodes again and again! My favorite episodes from this season include: "Aunt Janet Rebels," "Friends & Relations," and "High Society"...

Season Three contains the following episodes:

    1. The Ties That Bind
    2. But When She Was Bad...She Was Horrid (part 1)
    3. But When She Was Bad...She Was Horrid (part 2)
    4. Felix and Blackie
    5. Another Point of View
    6. Aunt Janet Rebels
    7. A Dark and Stormy Night
    8. Friends and Relations
    9. Vows of Silence
    10. After the Honeymoon
    11. High Society
    12. The Calamitous Courting of Hetty King
    13. Old Friends, Old Wounds
