Tales from Avonlea - Beginnings Reviews:
The Economical Alternative
2009-12-15 - If you really like these series, you should get the full length Sullivan (non Disney) releases, however this is a low priced alternative if you just want to get your feet wet.
superduper for kids - they love it
2009-03-13 - My kids have about worn this out already and we've only had it for a month!
Kind of boring period kids show
2009-01-11 - A late 19th century Canada comes to life in this TV series as a movie
in two episodes. Although it has the Disney "heart warming" formula down pat,it is mostly pretty boring, family and chick flick like.
I didn't like it at all.
Simpler Times
2006-06-26 - Tales of Avonlea is a great film to be enjoyed by children and adults. It takes you back to a more simpler, and innocent time. It will make you laugh and sometimes it will bring tears to your eyes. You will enjoy the adventures that Alex,Felicity, and Sarah take you on. This film was beautifully made! So, sit back and enjoy Tales of Avonlea and beautiful Prince Edward's Island.
Poor Video Quality
2006-01-04 - I absolutely love the Avonlea series that was on the Disney Channel. I was very excited to learn that Disney was releasing the series in a complete season format. Although the package does not indicate that it is closed captioned it is. That was a must for me as I am deaf. Unfortunately, the video quality is very poor and a LOT of editing was done in most of the episodes. I would consider purchasing from Sullivan Entertainment, but their discs do not have closed captioning or even subtitles. If you don't mind the editing, poor video quality or the sometimes out of sync audio, then you would like it very much.
