2009-09-10 - I couldn't put this down. It is suspenseful with believable characters. I love the hearty kids too. I read Deception which I enjoyed tremendously. This story line is special to me because my own Grandmother helped raise about 33 foster children,many of whom became very successful. So I really liked the story of overcoming a tough beginning because of a loving foster mother's devotion and care. Looking forward to the third book.

2009-08-06 - I bought this book because the previous reviews were highly rated. This is my first novel by this author and I must say I enjoyed it. I was totally engrossed in this well written suspense. I just wish there were a little more romance. Ms. Montgomery leaves you hanging at the end so you must get her next book in the series, Deception. I can't wait to read it! If you like mystery/romance, you will enjoy this book.

2008-10-25 - Ms. Montgomery sets herself apart, oncemore, as an awesome writer. I've read every Montgomery novel and must say this is my favorite (so far). Readers can truly identify with these well developed characters. I felt like I was discovering the answers to the mystery right along with the guarded, sexy defense attorney and the chiselled, secretive police chief. I'm still sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the remaining two novels in what promises to be an outstanding trilogy!!
