    Robot Monster Reviews:
Classic Early Camp Movie With Some Real Pathos 4 Star Review
2009-08-07 - This is a really cheap monster movie with a famously camp monster (a gorilla wearing a diver's helmet). It is a boy's dream after he gets a nasty bump on the head. The only other movie which is better as a dream experience is Well's The Trial that I know of. Doing a movie of a dream is all but impossible. The dream aspect is not well established & only reveals itself at the end, probably deliberately. The mounting is pretty believable for it's time except for the monster but very cheap which detracts. The aliens are all powerful & relentless as they hunt down & kill the handful of human survivors. There is a quiet desperation as the humans slowly lose their last fight. The director was so humiliated by the film's failure that he attempted suicide. If you watch it try to keep an open mind, there is more there than is apparent at first glance.

THE WORST EVER - A MUST-OWN MOVIE 1 Star Review
2008-07-02 - If you're a fan of really horrible movies, you cannot get any worse that Robot Monster. The plot is preposterous, and the acting is, by far, the worst I have ever seen in a commercial film. Supposedly it was produced for less than $16,000 but not a single penny seems to have made it on the screen. Even the hybrid gorilla with a diving helmet, was done because the costume shop had lost the head to the gorilla. The amazing part is that the music was composed by Academy-award winner Elmer Bernstein, who was the next-door neighbor to the producer-director Phil Tucker. Beyond belief.
