Editorial Review:
Another great Melodic Rock import from NEH Records. After two previous releases, the Swedish rock band, House Of Shakira showed up at MTM MUSIC with some demo material. The label liked it and and soon agreed upon the release of their third album, "HOUSE OF SHAKIRA - III" (June 2000). Due to heavy demand, they also decided to bring out the best songs of the previous albums under the title "Best of 2". As a special Thank You for their fans, HOUSE OF SHAKIRA included three bonus tracks, never released before. Here it is, at last! The new album from HOUSE OF SHAKIRA - for all their fans!

Europe's answer to Journey
2001-03-26 - For those who like melodic rock, this album is a must. I first heard the "Lint" album, House Of Shakira's first release after being signed by a lable that went bankrupt a couple of years later, about a year ago and was blown away. This band is awesome. Even doing Journey cover tunes. They make the music sound very simple yet they are very schooled musicians. They can keep it simple yet they all have chops too. They have the power ballad such as the song "No: 8" as well as the big guitar chords or power chord in songs like "Who's Lying Now." The three songs at the end of the disc shows some early work that is just completely awesome. As I said earlier, if you like Journey and especially the early 80's Journey, you'll love House Of Shakira. They do have their own style. They are not a Journey clone band, however they seem to be very influenced by Journey. Completely awesome.
This is a great CD...Not your typical melodic rock.
2000-08-02 - The great thing about this CD is that it isn't your typical run of the mill sound alike rock.
This group has its own distinct hard rocking sound that will stay in your head for days.
The booming "Method of Madness" and "Elephant of a Gun" to the Journey-esqe "Susan" and "Seperate ways-Live" make this album a must.
The Monster "Ghost in Town" will stay in your head for days. It sounds very Dokken like. "The Chance" is another kick butt song.
"Who's Lyin now" has a very Survivor feel.
Overall this band sounds like many favorite artists of the past on some songs but overall have their own sound that just is music to my ears. If all music were this good, I would go broke.
