Best of 2 Reviews:
Great Introduction to House of Shakira
2006-05-10 - There must be something in the water in Sweden, because that country seems to have more quality melodic rock bands than any other. House of Shakira is a great example. The band mixes an obvious appreciation for classic AOR bands like Journey, Boston, and Foreigner with a more modern approach.
Best of 2 is a compilation featuring songs from their first two albums, which had been out of print at that point. It also includes three bonus tracks. Both albums have since been re-released, so Best of 2 mainly serves as a great introduction to the band for new listeners. Those listeners are likely to become fans after hearing these 17 very catchy, very melodic, upbeat rock tracks, which include a live cover of Journey's Separate Ways.
ONE OF TOP MELODIC ROCK ALBUMS EVER!
2004-11-22 - I think the last reviewer thought she was reveiwing R&B singer "Shakira"'s, cd, but this is rock. This band owes a lot to Survivor, Journey, and others, but they have their own style which will remind you of the 80's, but sounds fresh and new at the same time. THIS particular album is worth the import-price, and then some. You will literally spin the grooves off this thing, and what an addition it will be to your collection.
Love It
2004-01-06 - I lova Shakira's music. and I absolutly love this album.
