Editorial Review:
The come-from-nowhere success of Shania Twain's previous album, The Woman in Me, proved that the world was ready for a combination of traditional instruments, girl-power themes, and dance-pop dynamics. Whether Twain is a modern-day Dolly Parton or a country music Spice Girl is a matter of perspective. But with her third album, she accentuates the sing-along choruses and simple dance rhythms while downplaying the country elements. As a pop move, it works wonderfully for her, earning Twain a valued spot on MTV, VH-1, and pop radio. The emphasis is on fun rather than depth, of course. But no one can accuse her of being stingy: she and her Svengali-like producer/husband, slick-rock king Robert "Mutt" Lange (Def Leppard, Bryan Adams, AC/DC), load down the album with 16 songs, all of them quite radio-friendly. --Michael McCall

Come on Over Reviews:
One of the best albums of all time! 5 Star Review
2009-11-15 - I was blown away when I first heard Shania's album...I have gotten use to the idea that albums where only supposed to have one or two good songs on it, and the rest was filler. But not Shania's CD! Oh my gosh, I love every song on it except for "Rock this Country," but that's because every other song is a total gem! A great mix of pop/country!

Great CD! In great shape! 5 Star Review
2009-09-11 - bought this for my daughter.. she loved it
and had no problems with it!Great price too!

The album, the cassette, then the CD 5 Star Review

2008-06-21 - I've heard/liked some of her songs & heard this was a winner. Didn't do anything for me though. JcW

Country gone bad. 1 Star Review
2008-03-06 - Come On Over by Shania Twain sold millions and millions of albums but I despise this cd with a passion. Shania is one of the worst singer-songwriters I have ever heard, especially in the genre of country/pop. Her voice is completely unoriginal, there's no fire, range, or accessiblility. I can't believe how truly awful her songwriting is! Terrible cliches, junior high filled lyrics and child-like melodies. Songs like That Don't Impress Me Much, Man I Feel Like a Woman!, Don't Be Stupid, and You're Still the One just gives me the willies. The only two tracks that have any emotion in them are From This Moment On and You've Got a Way. Come on Over is a horrible and silliest record of the '90s. Stay clear from this over-rated mess!
