The award for the most original Christmas album for 2000 goes hands down to the three Osborn sisters--Kristyn, Kelsi, and Kassidy--of Shedaisy for their ambitious pop-rock mini-masterpiece Brand New Year. Exemplary rewrites, rearrangements, and rewired standards such as "Jingle Bells," "Deck the Halls," "Sleigh Ride," and others may tug at your holiday heartstrings for a whole other set of reasons. Add a handful of memorable and sometimes mesmerizing originals and rediscovered gems such as "Christmas Children" from the 1969 musical Scrooge and you've got a record that, at times, almost tries too hard to be too innovative, arty, and occasionally even Beatles-inspired (check that dense harmony and musical interplay/production on "Tinseltown" and the breathtaking arrangement of "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing/Carol of the Bells"). Still, this is an immensely gratifying album even with its slight misses: creative, sometimes caustic, playful, and always full of changes that demand your attention. You won't be disappointed; its rewards for those who stay tuned are many (including a ghost track of a stirring a cappella arrangement at the end). Wow! --Martin Keller

A Brand New Year CD by SheDaisy 
2009-01-07 - If you are looking for a change of pace in Christmas music - get this CD - it is wonderful! It has so many different and unique Christmas songs - I listened to it non-stop throughout the holiday season. It gets 10 stars in my book.
A Phenomenal Christmas CD
2008-12-23 - I had never heard of SheDaisy when I picked up this CD. Well what a revelation! The song arrangements are the most creative, unique and interesting I have heard -- great vocal melodies, harmonies and counter-melodies. The "classic" Christmas songs are all given refreshing new treatment (just because it says "Jingle Bells" doesn't mean you know what it will sound like), and the new self-penned tunes are also wonderful. This is what a good Christmas CD should be -- an artists' unique stamp on the songs of the season, and an introduction of new songs into the mix as well. A CD of which you won't quickly tire!
Great Christmas cd!
2008-02-10 - I love this cd - one of the best Christmas cds one can buy. Great arrangements on classics and the SheDaisy girls have fantastic voices.
Great holiday music
2008-01-18 - This is a different take on the same old christmas carols that everyone redoes every year with some new stuff thrown in. All in all, its a great album to put you in the holiday mood.
Best and newest Christmas mix I've heard !!!
2007-11-24 - This CD is Amazing. Every song has a twist and is so creatively done. The harmonies are unbelievable!!!! The song's just make you want to get up and dance!!! For people who love music and want to hear something new and exciting, I so recommend buying this CD. My husband even loves it(which is a TOTAL shocker) and he likes mostly 80's metal, 90's alternative and today's Pop & Rock like: Daughtry, Maroon 5 and the Killers etc.... So When he likes it, it's usually pretty good! My kids love it too!!! It is so fun!!!! This seriously is one the best and newest Christmas CD's I found to date! I am even buying another copy just so I have a spare! Merry Christmas everyone!!!
