    C'mon America 2003 Reviews:
A surprising disappointment. 3 Star Review
2009-02-13 - I love Sheryl Crow so much that it is difficult for me to be critical about anything she does.

On this DVD, the performances are perfect, the lighting perfect, the audio perfect, the editing perfect, she looks absolutely gorgeous, the song selection is excellent, etc, etc, It's very, very polished... and that's the problem. It lacks any of the quirks or imperfections or tensions that give live performances their character and uniqueness.

This DVD has zero spontaneity. Everything feels staged and controlled. It's almost like it's been scripted and blocked so that each member of the band is in the exact right spot at the exact right time so that the lighting and camera angle are perfect at every moment. At just the right moment, just the right shot of just the right audience members is edited in there.

The whole thing feels more like a movie than a live rock concert.

"In Fine form" 4 Star Review
2009-02-06 - First off let me say that I agree with a lot of the reviews here that complain about the editing but this dvd succeeds despite this fact. This concert was filmed over a two night period in Dayton, Ohio. I know this because I was there, although with the jumpy camera work you can only see me a couple of times. The concert itself rocks and is full of energy. The sound on this dvd is really good and not to sound like a pig but Sheryl looks really hot here. The songs are here, the emotion is here, and the band is great. I also love the part where you get to see Sheryl at sound check and just relaxing with her dog. Sheryl is one of the greatest artists we have today and this dvd should be part of your collection.

    C'mon America 2003 5 Star Review
2008-06-22 - the best live concert of Sheryl I've seen! Lots of energy, fun to watch and jam with!

Best Sheryl Crow product to have, if you have just one 5 Star Review
2008-02-17 - I've been a Sheryl Crow fan (albeit not all that devout) since her debut album was the first record I ever bought based only on listening booth exposure. I have to say that this DVD will probably be looked back at as her peak.

Her best songs (at least so far) were written by this point, so they're all on here. She looks fabulous, and sounds great, especially on 5.1. I disagree about the complaints about the editing. That is, when I'm at a show, I like to look around and take in the band, especially the hands of whoever is playing something noteworthy.

There's also a nice mix of backstage short clips so it's not just a stage video. At this point, Sheryl's show has branched out from her being only on one instrument, and all her stuff is better live, just to get away from that over-produced sound. I think that when we look back at Sheryl's ouerve, this disc will stand out as her at her best.

Sheryl is The "Real Deal" 5 Star Review
2008-01-20 - This is the first Sheryl Crow concert DVD I bought, and I was not at all disappointed. I was a little wary, due to several reviewers who complained about the editing. Well, it did not detract from my enjoyment of the concert at all. I found it just added to the excitement generated by the show. Sheryl's performance is fantastic, her band is terrific, and the sound is great. For over two hours, I was just totally rocking with her.

This concert was played in Dayton, Ohio, and she interacts with the audience quite a bit. This is something I enjoy, as one reason I like to buy concert DVD's as opposed to videos, is that you can see a bit of the true personality of the performer come out. You can really see what Sheryl's like in the way she enjoys performing, in the way she enjoys relating to her bandmates, and to the audience. At the end of the show, they show her backstage, enjoying a glass of wine, before signing autographs. She seems pepped up and excited with the thrill of the concert.

She plays all the great songs we all love from the C'Mon, C'Mon album on back (and plays them flawlessly, I may add). Her performance is electrifying. She has three costume changes, and I'm not really sure, but there may be three concerts featured as well. There is some behind the scenes footage of Sheryl and the crew, with commentary by Sheryl of her love of America and touring, which is really nice. She comes across as genuine and authentic, the Real Deal.
