Editorial Review: Studio: Uni Dist Corp (music) Release Date: 04/23/2004 The Very Best of Sheryl Crow - The Videos Reviews: It is really "THE VERY BEST" 2008-02-26 - What a lovely singer and musician! All her very best video hits on one DVD - awesome. Lovely songs - beautiful videos and camera work - sexy Sheryl Crow! Can only highly recommend it to all her fans.
Learned a bunch 2007-02-15 - I hadn't realized how prolific she's been. I enjoyed it immensely.
Hey! If it makes you happy ... 2004-12-13 - If you're even a casual fan of Sheryl Crow's music, then this DVD is for you ... and if you're a true fan (like me), it's a must-have! Here is a wonderful collection of her greatest hits offering sound so superbly crisp and clear that her fascinating and thought-provoking lyrics are perfectly balanced with their musical accompaniment. I own all her CDs, and found the sound on this DVD to be remarkably pure and sharp in comparison.
My enjoyment of Crow's music was increased ten-fold by the addition of the videos. Crow has an incredibly expressive face and a lithe body; her songs are even more impressive when she interprets them stylistically. My own favorites are "If It Makes You Happy" which casts Crow as an exhibit in a museum dedicated to Endangered Species; "All I Wanna Do", her breakthrough hit which is sung outside an abandoned theater with people floating about in the night like hot air balloons; and "Soak Up the Sun" which was shot in Hawaii and alternates clips of outdoor sports and partying with shots of Crow singing on a beach under a palm tree. My personal biases aside, it's undeniable that each of the videos offers an interesting interpretation of the featured song's concept.
Overall, this DVD is very highly recommended, and worth owning whether your primary interest is in watching the videos or simply owning a crystal clear collection of the talented Crow's greatest musical hits to date.
Great!! 2004-06-01 - After hearing "The First Cut is The Deepest" on the radio I decided to buy Sheryl Crow's "The Very Best..." cd and I am so glad I did. I was introduced to a wonderful musician! The videos are okay though. The best in my opinion are "Steve McQueen" "Everyday is a Winding Road" and "Soak Up The Sun". A must have for fans...
The Videos 2004-06-01 - I'm a big fan of Sheryl Crow. I find her music to be very intriguing and interesting to listen to, she is a fine songwriter and has a good sense of what good music is. Watching these videos, really heightens the songs for me. My favorite is hands down "Anything But Down", which I believe is one of her underrated songs. The video is very unique and engaging, and unlike anything I've seen. The wire that is holding the two people together, the push and pull, really represents the kind of relationship she is singing about in the song. Not all her videos are on here, which is a shame, but it's a good representation. Other favorites include "If It Makes You Happy", which has Sheryl inside a museum in many of the exhibits. "Soak Up The Sun" is visually appealing, it was shot in Hawaii. Overall a nice DVD for fans.
