Winner of five Academy Awards® including Best Picture, the exhilarating epic Braveheart is one of the most anticipated films on Blu-ray and continues to be beloved by fans and critics alike. The film will be presented in 1080p High Definition with English 5.1 Dolby TrueHD, French 5.1 Dolby Digital and Spanish 5.1 Dolby Digital and English, English SDH, French and Spanish subtitles. Among the more than two hours of new special features to be included on Braveheart are:

Description of Braveheart (Sapphire Series) [Blu-ray]:
Mel Gibson's Oscar-winning 1995 Braveheart is an impassioned epic about William Wallace, the 13th-century Scottish leader of a popular revolt against England's tyrannical Edward I (Patrick McGoohan). Gibson cannily plays Wallace as a man trying to stay out of history's way until events force his hand, an attribute that instantly resonates with several of the actor's best-known roles, especially Mad Max. The subsequent camaraderie and courage Wallace shares in the field with fellow warriors is pure enough and inspiring enough to bring envy to a viewer, and even as things go wrong for Wallace in the second half, the film does not easily cave in to a somber tone. One of the most impressive elements is the originality with which Gibson films battle scenes, featuring hundreds of extras wielding medieval weapons. After Eisenstein's Alexander Nevsky, Orson Welles's Chimes at Midnight, and even Kenneth Branagh's Henry V, you might think there is little new that could be done in creating scenes of ancient combat; yet Gibson does it. --Tom Keogh

    Braveheart (Sapphire Series) [Blu-ray] Reviews:
Good movie, bad service! 5 Star Review
2009-12-15 - Braveheart is a GREAT movie!!!! But we specifically searched out a full-screen edition to order. And when it arrived it was WIDE-SCREEN!!! It was sent from one of Amazon's affiliates, and when we contacted them, they said they would send me a return label, and refund my money in the bank in 3 to 4 weeks. Told me they couldn't give me a full-screen, I would have to reorder all over if I wanted full-screen, and it was not availble at that time. And the paper it was sent in maybe cheaper for the shipper, but the cases get broken in the mail. Because Braveheart and I just recieved Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and both cases were broken. I would suggest if you don't have the movie in the format the person wants, don't offer it.

History is Written by the Victors 5 Star Review
2009-12-15 - Yes, it is horribly inaccurate, but that doesn't matter to most of us. If I want a historical depiction of actual events I'll watch a documentary.

This movie has something for everyone; fighting, action, comedy, gore (too much for some), revenge, and an absolutely great love story. Not sure why I'm writing a review, seeing how everyone has seen it already, but here we are.

I'd buy from this person again. 5 Star Review
2009-12-09 - The DVD was in good conditions. Arrived in the time period mentioned. Overall no problems with the DVD and I was satisfied. Hope this helps!

Best movie ever made 5 Star Review
2009-12-07 - real life experience for the age of deceit and cruelty with much war time gore overlying an inspiring and captivating story .

Dissapointed in this Blu-Ray version. 2 Star Review
2009-12-05 - This being one of my favorite movies of all time, I must say I was really dissapointed in what this Blu-Ray version had to offer. Not a single deleted scene. On NBC, Braveheart was aired with added footage. Why was this footage not included in this 2-disc version? Owning the DVD and having seen this movie probaly 10 times, simply having a little sharper picture doesn't justify this purchase. The special features in the original DVD are actually better than the Blu-Ray. If an extended version is ever offered I will be the first to buy it, but I wish I hadn't wasted my money on this one.
